La Frégate

Absolutely loved the location. Loved that we had restaurants, cafes and shops right downstairs. Loved that the hotel is a 6 mins walk from the train station. Loved that the beach was only a 5 mins walk. Love that the castle is only a 5 mins walk. The staff were all so friendly and helpful and cheerful. Love, love, love this little hotel.

Great stay

Nothing . Just the elevator was too small

A lovely slightly quirky looking place that was perfectly positioned for everything we wanted to see and do. Super helpful and friendly staff, nice clean room and bathroom- bedroom not the biggest but it was fine for the two of us. Great views, we had double aspect windows with views. The breakfast was superb with lots of choice, a fresh good quality offering and plenty of it. Really good breakfast. We couldn’t decide between this one and another close by but having seen them both now, my instincts were right to go with this one. A great find!

Not something we didn’t like but just as a point of note, the lift can only take one person at a time and doesn’t run outside of reception hours. Understandable in the circumstances for all sorts of reasons but I just note it as someone a little compromised in terms of mobility (with stairs). I couldn’t avoid using them when we returned after being out for the evening and it was fine. A very small point as I say which did not impact our stay but just something to bear in mind if you are in the 4th or 5th floor and a little compromised in terms of mobility.

Good location

There was no shower screen/ curtain in the bath and no plug/stopper for the bath. So it was not possible to have a bath or a shower. I did complain and I was told that all the bathrooms were the same. I think it is a minimum requirement for a hotel to provide a bathroom with either a bath or a shower. Hot water was also an issue. For this reason I would not stay at this hotel or recommend it.
