it was New Year’s Day and there was no food available in the hotel when we arrived at 8pm, no room service , bar food or access to restaurant or vending machine. i understand it was a bank holiday but when booking we should have been promoted to book restaurant as there was nothing available locally and no room service for a young family who had travelled all day. the restaurant manager was extremely unhelpful and rude. she could have accommodated the children with cereal or bread given our circumstances but she just said no we haven’t booked and the buffet was for set amount of people. i have worked in hotels and know there are kind ways to give bad news to customers with empathy. she was unpleasant about it . we were very disheartened by this and saw her give a couple meats and desserts at the bar at 10pm which she did not offer us.

I liked the calm environment and the size of the pool and the warm bubbling pool. The pool, restaurant and cleaning staff was pleasant and helpful. Restaurant: meals MWF were great. Service sometimes slow.

Pool: Sometimes too crowded. I would have liked more free swim time. There needs to be more space to leave peignoir and personal items. More indoor space and chairs would be great. Restaurant: Food was very bad on TTh. Room: I was bothered by construction noise above me room and the staff reaction was what I consider shocking and unprofessional. Some of the reception staff seemed indfferent and arrogant. The top director eventually appologised. However, he defended that they do work, even with clients are there. Finally at the end of my stay, I got an apology and 21 euros for the nuisance, nothing can change the stress this event created. I won't be returning to the hotel, only to the pool and maybe the restaurant on MWF only! I stayed on only because the pool helps my joint pain. The Director said they will continue to repare and restore as needed despite the noise. I was told it can happen anytime, no warning and is rare. They think since it happens between 13h and 14h, it is no big deal! I was very unlucky and am very shocked by this reality. I thought 4* meant exceptional care for client comfort and quality of stay and facilities. By the way, the bathtub is difficult to use with the added glass shower screen.

The location is probably the only positive thing about this hotel.

It’s a fairly old hotel, the facilities might have been renovated ages ago but it feels it never happened. The corridor to the room smells old and the carpets dirty and not even the blue neon lights make it better. After checking in we went to the spa area to check it out… when we arrived it looked like everyone in town had been invited… it was super crowded. That’s when we were told that it was open to the public… but still… it wouldn’t fit anyone else. It’s worth mentioning that it’s nowhere mentioned in the website or Booking.com that it’s open to the public. The gym was also another extremely disappointing surprise. The equipments are old and not up to standard for a 4-star hotel. It’s actually a 3-star hotel, and we’re being kind. The good location is misleading as the hotel is really disappointing. In a nutshell, we arrived around 4pm and checked out around 5pm. Thanks, but no thanks. Note: the lady at the reception was very kind and polite.
