We stopped here for an overnight stay driving to the south. We immediately got the holidays feeling!

Great choice!

The restaurant closes as 20:00 for kitchen orders. As we noticed this we ordered food in advance, which was great! However, it would be nice if the restaurant would allow orders till about 21:00!

Great rural setting. Perfect for hikes with or without a dog.

Beautiful setting and a balcony is always a nice to have. Dinner in the restaurant was excellent.

It’s not necessarily a dislike, but something to be prepared for: outside breakfast & dinner, only snacks (crisps & chocolate bars) & drinks are available on a self service basis.

We’ve been back 3 times!

This is a very comfortable hotel in a country location which we’ve been back to three times. The bedrooms are well furnished with quality furnishings, a very comfortable bed and great pillows! The bathroom, though not large, was neatly fitted with a very efficient shower which had plenty of hot water. Our room had a smal terrace looking out over a pretty patch of grass and trees. It was very peaceful. The restaurant is very popular (so book ahead!) with a good international menu and wine pairings are possible if one is not familiar German wines . They have an outside terrace for warmer weather looking over a meadow with a small children’s play area to one side A good breakfast is available. There’s plenty of parking on site.

Expected better

Evening staff were very good. Dinner was good. Room clean and good size.

Booked hotel as I wanted somewhere with sauna etc. On arrival told I had to let them know to turn sauna on....therefore insufficient time before dinner. Evening staff apologetic and said no problem for the morning. Morning staff said I couldn't use due to cleaning...no one was cleaning the area and hadn't by the time I checked out. Receptionist in the morning was unhelpful and miserable. It was the last day of my holiday and I had wanted something a bit special...I didn't get it.

Nice hotel in the center of Mosel region, authentic with modern touch.

I liked the location of the hotel, easy accesible but at the same time in the middle of the fields and not too far from the touristic villages and the Mosel river.

I was a little dissapointed in the restaurant. The asperges where not enough cooked and the second time my steak was well done rather than medium. Otherwise lovely decor, nice wines. I did love the salad with goat cheese and honey.

Good Hotel-Restaurant

The hotel is well located in a nice region, the staff was very friendly and available to answer despite some communication problem in english but the boss was also present to answer the questions, the Restaurant offers very good food, and possible to have sauna, ... Ratio price/quality quite good.

The hotel is a little bit old fashion style but despite this it offers all the necessary commidities and servies to have a good stay........

Would come again!

The breakfast was lovely, the eggs were amazing. Dinner was also really good and the staff was lovely! The room was spacious with a lovely balcony and a great view. Also really liked the option to close the shutters so it was nicely dark in the room. I had the pleasure of having the sauna all by myself the one time I got to use it (my own fault completely, didn't check the time!) and it was very clean and lovely. There are very nice hicking trails nearby and about 6 min (by car) there is a big super market. Would come again in a heartbeat!

The room was a bit noisy. I could hear the, I guess, upper neighbours walking with wet feet as if they were walking in my room. Sadly got a one person bed instead of a double bed, it was comfy but not what I am used to so I slept quite poorly thanks to that and the noisy neighbours.

Exceptional

The hotel is family run and so friendly but still feels like a high end establishment. The location is lovely, the rooms are large and very comfortable and the restaurant food was absolutely delicious. The sauna just put the icing on the cake and the cherry on top. Already planning to return.

Beautiful location

The property is gorgeously located and suitable for hiking. Hotel is surrounded by animals and woods. There are parking possibilities and comfortable access to the property. Especially stuff member during breakfast were extremely helpful and nice.

It’s an old fashioned hotel with very uncomfortable bed, especially for a small person like me. Bed frame is made of wood and is higher than the mattress edge which make getting up from bad very unpleasant. Good to know is that the restaurant in the hotel is opened only till 8pm on Sunday so if you arrive, like us with a little baby shorty after and hope to have sth to eat, you will be very disappointed. One had to stay with a baby in the room and one of us was searching for a pizza place around as there were absolutely no possibilities for us to eat at this hotel. Not even a sandwich.

Der Birkenhof übertrifft alles was wir in dieser Gegend kennen. Es ist ruhig, die Luft ist gut. Das Hotel bietet alles was wir uns bei diesem Preis wünsche. Die Speisen im Restaurant waren alle hervorragend und übertrafen alles was wir bisher in näherer Umgebung gegessen haben. Dies war unser zweiter Aufenthalt und bestimmt nicht der letzte.

Ik was op doorreis , maar zou hier wel langer willen verblijven ...

De locatie is zeer goed - niet alleen voor doorreis - men kan het hotel ook als uitvalsbasis gebruiken voor heel wat activiteiten. De eigenaars organiseren ook allerlei gastronomische en andere activiteiten ... echt tof.

Preis-Leistung Kleinkind (unter 2 Jahren). Fürs Kleinkind ist der Preis vergleichsweise hoch mit 50 Euro zwei Nächte Kleinkind-Zustellbettzuschlag, wenn das Zustellbett wie in unserem Fall ein einfaches Klapp-Reisebett mit dünner Einlegematratze ist. Die bereitgestellte Kinderdecke muss unter die Einlegematratze gelegt werden, damit die Bettstangen nicht durchdrückt. Hier wäre unsere Empfehlung an das Team in eine echte Kinderbettmatratze zu investieren. Damit wären die Kleinkindkosten verständlich. Deshalb den kleinen Abzug in Preis-Leistung, wenn auch aus Erwachsenen-Sicht bei Hotelaufenthalt ohne Familie mit kleinen Kindern wir bestimmt den Preis-Leistungsbutton mit "gut" bewertet hätten. Das Hotel als solches ist definitiv zu empfehlen und werden wir auch weiterempfehlen.

Prima verblijf op mooie locatie.

Rustig en landelijk gelegen mooie accommodatie. Niet direct aan de snelweg A61, maar erg ver omrijden is het niet. Goede service en vriendelijke personeel.

De autoweg aan de voorkant is best druk, deze kan gehorig zijn, wij logeerden aan de achterzijde, daardoor hadden we er sowieso geen hinder van.

Absoluut voor 1 overnachting de moeite waard.

Vriendelijkheid medewerkers. Grote tuin met overal ligplaatsen.

Je hoorde de rijksweg. En de akoestiek van het hotel was heftig. Harde klappen van kamerdeuren ivm slechte akoestiek, schuivende stoelen en je stem galmde in de hotelgang.

Heerlijk rustig landelijk hotel

Heerlijk plattelandshotel. Rustig gelegen tussen de koeien (je hoort ze soms zelfs even loeien) Ik had deze geboekt voor doorreis, en dan is het heerlijk om ongecompliceerd ergens te verblijven zonder drukte. Voor de deur is ook een ruime parking aanwezig. Inchecken ging vlot. Hotelkamer was lekker ruim. Bedden lagen verrassend lekker. Hotelrestaurant is vrij complex / modern. En het was ook goed! (het was druk met lokale bevolking in de avond, reserveren vereist!)

- De schuine daken, al een paar keer mijn hoofd gestoten (na de 1e keer is dit ook mijn eigen schuld..) - Hygiene badkamer (douchecabine) kan net iets beter. Hoewel heerlijk rustig gelegen is er in de directe omgeving ook helemaal NIETS. Maar je kan wel leuk wandelen langs de koeien en graanvelden. Maar als je op Google Maps kijkt zie je dit ook meteen. Eigen vervoer is dan wel cruciaal om te hebben (en dan ben je overal vrij vlot)
