Golden Tulip São João da Madeira

The hotel staff was very discreet and polite, always ready to help. I’d especially like to single out the very kind Ms. Fernanda, who was able to tailor the breakfast to my dietary needs. I’m very grateful to her, and I appreciate her kindness and cheerful outlook on life. The next time I visit São João da Madeira (and I’ll be coming here every year for family reasons), I’ll definitely stay at the Golden Tulip hotel.

Comfortable room although the signs of ageing are visible. Very good location to access the city center and local amenities.

The breakfast is made mandatory by the time of booking but it's not worth it. Poor quality.

The Hotel was easy to find with Plenty of parking available.

The rooms are a little dated however the room was clean and the Bed comfortable Not sure if it was because I stayed the week before Christmas that I found the Restaurant on the first two nights of my stay only served 2 options ( Meat & Fish) and on the third Night the Restaurant was closed and was only able to get room service with the same options as the previous Nights. The following Nights a full A-la-Carte menu was available. Irrespective of this little Gripe the food was very good and affordable

the location is great very convenient and easy access. The the staff is really nice and helpful good parking area

the cleaners came at 4 pm and they said they could not come any other time the mattress is a little bit to old and not really comfortable the value for money is not the best, specially for Portugal. They breakfast was not included, they did not offer anything as courtesy as water for example. They don't offer iron or ironing board.
