The Hotel was exactly as advertised. A grand hotel in name and facilities. I stayed with a group of eleven friends. We all had huge 'suite sized' bedrooms, each with a large bathroom, a good compliment of bathroom gels etc plus a coffee and coffee machine. The staff we met from Reception, Night Porter, Chambermaid and breakfast were all very friendly and helpful. The location added to the success of our trip, with the hotel being in a prime central location with restaurants, bars and shops close at hand.

Everything was exceptional to the last

We made a last-minute booking for this hotel and got a good price so we accepted its eccentricities. The style of the hotel, the rooms, the furniture and the public spaces are old and a bit faded. It was very calm in the hotel and we slept very well. The public car park in the centre of town literally goes right up to the front door of the hotel so there is no passing traffic and we paid 25 BGN to park overnight and the next morning.
I think the hotel wants to achieve period charm but it didn't quite work for us.
