The view from the room was beautiful, breakfast was delicious, the room was very comfortable. Restaurants are close.
The staff was fine, could be better. The shower is small. So many stairs to get there but anywhere in Positano it’s like that. They could have a transportation from the port to get to the hotel to make it easy, it doesn’t matter if you have to pay for it, it would be nice.

Very nice and helpful staff, comfortable and cosy room with a wonderful balcony with spectacular see view, very good breakfast which is served every morning directly to your room, you can also choose, what will your breakfast include, pastry, fruits, cereals, juices, coffee etc. Location is good, but with its own complexities (like every vertical city in Amalfi coast). Small fridge and big TV are also included
There were really no problem worth mentioning, but one very important info about the city itself - unfortunately it is very small, with very narrow streets, a lot of cars drive there and that leaves almost no walking space for you. Another issue, which can be important for people with health issues - unfortunately the only way to the see is relativ long stairs, or a even longer serpentine route with bus or a car, or by walk, walking downstairs is okay, but walking back up is really a nightmare, so you have to go a long way from the main square and if you want take a bus, which is always crowded. Please consider this information especially if you travel with kids

Il Gabbiano is in a perfect location for a vacation in Positano. Would eaily make a decision to return and/or recommend to others.
There are two things standing out as negatives that caused me to give it a Wonderful rating instead of an Exceptional rating. 1) NO POOL... the four person Hot Tub is simply not good enough. 2.) Free breakfast should be 100% FREE. Instead a hard bolied egg is free, but there is a charge for a fried or scrambled egg. Other hotels in Italy which we used had a complete breakfast with no upcharges.
