Good for a night stay but wouldn’t recommend longer

For a one night stay, the Hotel was fine but I wouldn’t want to stay any longer. The room was modern and clean but very small. The restaurant was excellent for evening meal but quite a poor breakfast offering, although adequate, (however, this is quite normal for France as breakfast never seems to be a big deal for them). Good for a one night stay either heading North or South.

The room was quite small. The air conditioning didn’t work, which meant the room was very warm. The bathroom was very small but functional.

After 4pm booking. No bar facilities until booked in. Apparent lack of staff Greeting / welcome nil. Functional but amateurish. Very limited menu with no imagination or creative effort. (a slab of pate + a single conichon is not impresive).Cream with the Tart Tatin REFUSED.!!!! ?? Suggest public relations (PR) course a benefit. but nice people.

Perfect stay with top service

Nice classic and modern style hotel where all staff is very helpfull. We enjoyed diner in the restaurant with well trained staff. They where very nice to our dog. The spa was also good.

Very well refurbished, friendly staff, excellent restaurant atmosphere and good food. Breakfast was varied and plentiful. Plenty of free parking.

The room was very clean and the bed was very comfortable. We have now been here 3 times and are returning again.

The staff, especially at front desk was not trained to run a hotel, neither to have any kind of communication with customers. A no-go flag for the future, which is really a shame for such a nice place.

Exceptional

This is the second time we stayed here, albeit in a smaller room but nonetheless we were very pleased with the facilities. We ate dinner and thoroughly enjoyed it even though the food had been pre- prepared by the resident chef. The food was tasty and the portions just right. The tarte tatin was superb. All of the alcohol served matched and complemented the dishes. Service was excellent. The staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel and its surroundings are delightful and we only wished that we had had more time to explore Lamotte Beuvron itself. The hotel is very clean. We will return.

Too brief

It was a very good location in a beautiful town The room was spacious and well equipped. The evening meal was good as was the breakfast

I didn’t like climbing 40 steps up to my room and there was a nasty drain smell in the room. I traced it to a dried out shower waste trap which must of dried out and was easily rectified.

Pleasant

The rooms were comfortable and the treatment at the spa was good. Breakfast was a really delicious selection of everything you could think of.

The hotel advertised catering for alternative diets so we booked for dinner and told them in advance that we had a vegan travelling with us but when we got there, it was obvious they didn't know what a vegan diet was and claimed that they hadn't been told which was clearly untrue.

nice, comfy hotel.

The location was very easily accessible and the town had a supermarket and a range of places to eat which was great. The rooms were very clean and very comfy. The building itself is lovely. The air conditioning was very effective.

The day we were there they had issues in the kitchen and only offered cold food. This wasn't going to be suitable (particularly for my child!) so we ate out. We then returned for a drink but they seemed confused about where we could sit as they were basically set up for food. Eventually we were located inside but service was slow.

Really nice room especially the family room.

We were not informed prior to arrival that the kitchen was not fully functional. One of the reasons we booked was so that we could eat in the restaurant after a very long drive. We decided not to eat at the restaurant as the menu was very limited. We asked if we could have a drink and we’re told “ No, sorry, all the tables outside are for people having dinner” Upon asking if there were any other restaurants nearby, we were told “not really” and that the nearest was a 15 minute drive. After a very quick search we found a very nice bistro and bar a 10-15 minute walk away!

The location of the hotel almost exactly halfway in distance from Calais to the south of France/Languedoc which means it is an excellet stopping point - it is also in a small town not far from the motorway, an added bonus. We have used this hotel for a number of years so know it well although it has changed hands the past two years so not quite so personable staff as previously....though they were all very nice and friendly.

The bed had not been made up properly - the undersheet was not put in properly with the result that the sheet on top was uncomfortable so I had to remake the bed. This was unusual as the beds have always been properly made before. We had an evening meal at the hotel's restaurant, and although the food tasted very good, it was clearly very nouvelle cuisine so we were left hungry because portions too small. Also the wine waiter did not pour a full glass of wine when we were buying wine by the glass so we felt shortchanged by that - we could see that another waiter was filling glasses the correct amount.
