Recommended.

The hosts were excellent. Really friendly and accommodating. The room was clean and well maintained. The shower/toilet was very clean. Altogether, a lovely spot.

The location was next to a modern new build estate, with all the building works that that entails. However, that really is nit picking and doesn't take away from an excellent stay.

Very good

Location was close to cycle path. Good air conditioning. Swimming pool was great after a ride in the heat. Secure bike area.

If you cannot speak French then do not stay here as the hosts don’t try to communicate. There is no use of google translation and when you try you get nowhere anyway. We were given a drink and then left waiting to be shown to a room which didn’t happen. To find out this was a nightmare. The kitchenette is not your own use and in the morning was locked before we could make a coffee. Took so long to work out a system with them to hang hand washing in the sunshine. Strange people. They have a nice property but that little bit of communication is also needed. Stay away if you only speak English or you will find it hard work and unpleasant. The only two words spoken was to do with selling you breakfast which probably wouldn’t amount to much. The best they could suggest for dinner was the local campground which is pretty ordinary.

Snobby feel, charming place

Beautiful building and attention to detail in furnishings. Nice bathroom and courtyard on a (relatively) quiet side street. Not far from two dining options.

Host was not particularly warm or welcoming and it seemed to be a strain to even ask for a place to store things in the fridge or get hot water for the morning. At the rates we were charged, I think the minimum would have been to include breakfast.

We really liked the outdoor area with the pool. The josts were lovely and offered us chilled drinks when we arrived. Near the house is a campsite with a restaurant that‘s open late for dinner and it‘s close to the Rhône cycling route.

The room is located on the ground floor and quite dark. I‘m not sure if there‘s much to do in terms of sightseeing and activities in this area. The breakfast is a bit small for the price.

We can warmly recommend this property to other guests, especially those cycling the ViaRhona

The host was extremely helpful and accommodating. Breakfast was fine and got us off to a good start. We were able to pick the time ourselves, useful as we wanted an early start for our continuation of the Via Rhona which is very close to this property. Dining in the area is rather restricted and we would not recommend either of the camping sites!

If you like a quiet location in rural France this is perfect and Pascal was the perfect host.

Lovely typical French building and a very nicely decorated room & bathroom. Pascal was very friendly & helpful.

Location for us wasn’t great as we like to be near to a local restaurants. Unfortunately we didn’t sleep well due to a noisy (we think radiator) sound in the room, though I’m sure this will be sorted before the next guests.

Exceptional

Staying at Petite'Escale was a really nice experience. It was very quiet, and we slept well. The host was friendly and very welcoming. Comfortable bed, a nice furnished bathroom and a garden to sit during the warm evening. Thanks to the host for a nice stay!

A lovely bed and breakfast with a nice terrace.

We were cycling the Via Rhona in hot weather so were delighted with an early check-in. The terrace with loungers and table and chairs, sun and shade, was a real bonus. We spent all evening there enjoying a simple dinner we bought at the Carrefour about 2km away. There are restaurants in Charmes if you prefer. Make sure to walk up to the medieval part of Charmes. This place is not in the town but it is right on the Via Rhona. Wifi was good. Ask ahead if you want breakfast, which was good value. The bedroom and bathroom are private but the sitting and eating area indoors was part of a passageway that was used by the family. We were able to use all the equipment in the kitchen, which was used to serve us breakfast.

Friendly and attractive place for a short stay.

Pleasant, quiet spot with a very friendly welcome from the owners, who offered us cold drinks on arrival and suggested places to find dinner nearby. The room was very clean. Breakfast was fairly standard - bread, jam, pastries, coffee and juice - and we paid 7,50 per person. The old part of Charmes-sur-Rhone (about 20-30 minutes' walk from the accommodation) is small but well worth exploring.

The location is a bit out of the way - it was fine for a one-night stay but might feel a bit inconvenient on a longer visit, especially without a car.

Unterkunft mit Charme, sehr sauber, genug Platz im Schrank, Badezimmer blitzblank mit Fenster, etc. Freundlicher und zuvorkommender „Patron“, der sich um jedes Detail kümmert (Klimaanlage schon eingeschaltet, Parkplatz direkt vor den Haus zugewiesen, etc!

Super Lage, sehr ruhig. Der Check-In war super flexibel. Das Zimmer und das Bad sehr sauber und hochwertig eingerichtet und das Personal ausgesprochen nett!

Ein Fliegengitter am Fenster wäre ideal, damit in der Nacht die kleinen Quälgeister auch draussen bleiben.

Es ist nicht einfach nur, dass man ein Zimmer anmietet. Man wird sehr nett ( mit einem Drink) empfangen und über die Gegend informiert. Man hat die untere Etage, inklusive Garten und Pool praktisch für sich und ist total unabhängig. .. Es herrscht die absolute Ruhe. Für Auto und Fahrräder wird gesorgt, die Lage ist perfekt.

Zeer vriendelijk onthaal door de gastvrouw en -heer. Bovendien bieden zij een enkele kamer aan zodat je in alle rust van de tuin en het terras kan genieten.

Niks. Eenvoudig, maar goed ontbijt. Verwacht geen uitgebreide keuze aan kaas en vleeswaren. Al bij al een uitstekend adres, gelegen op de ViaRhona-fietsroute.
