Amazon Villas

We had a fantastic time at Amazon Villas. Conrad and his team could not have been more helpful and it was exceptional value to rent vehicles from him too. This is not a soulless resort but a personalised service and the people made all the difference here.

The property is wonderful and I hope to return next year. Staff was very nice and helpful. Room was very clean.

The food was not good in my opinion. We tried eating at the restaurant a few times and gave up. Smoking is allowed on individual porches. I am sensitive to cigar and cigarette smoke.

I really love the pool

Everything was fine

We loved the location of the apartment almost in the centre of the rain forest. The huge patio was excellent for observing the birds and chilling. Also, the accommodation was basic but very clean. The shops are 15 mins drive from the Amazon Villas going up and down the hills. The car is rather essential. All the atractions like mud and mineral baths, volcano, Pitons are right in the corner, no more than half an hour drive.

We did not like the swimming pool as the chlorine level was too high, affecting the eyes and skin. Also, for us the bed mattresses were too soft. Someone may love it, we did not. One of the bedrooms has a leaking roof so we had to use some cooking pots to catch the rain water :) However, the rain did not pour in our face so no complaints, we have just loughed and even did not mention it to the landlord. And be prepared the bedrooms are just tiny box rooms (which is probably reflected in the price). And bring tons of anti moskito with you...
