Beautiful house and location. It was disappointed with the lack of common supplies that are offered at a rental. I feel more than two garbage bags, one dishwasher tab, and a tbsp of dish soap is needed. We had to refill all the hand soaps because they were empty. Also basic kitchen supplies were missing which made it very difficult to cook a simple dinner for my family. Contacted owner to see if there more of these items and was told we had to purchase them. Also as mentioned in a customers review, the upstairs toilet is Very Finicky. You have to flush it and then wait a few minutes for it to make this horrendous squealing noise and then flush it again for it to work. Dont bother using the toilet at night unless you want the whole house to be woken up. It’s unfortunate because the house is beautiful but when your traveling, its the simple things that make a trip relaxing

Our stay was pleasant but only one bathroom was operational and this was not disclosed in the listing. Communication with the owner on the subject was frustrating. We won't be staying there again. Details: On the day we checked in, the owner advised that the departing guests said the upstairs toilet was not flushing well and that it was a compression tank toilet where pressure needs to build up between flushes. He offered to have a plumber come out Monday morning (we checked in Saturday afternoon). On Sunday evening, he provided the procedure to flush, wait for the loud whistling noise to stop, then flush a second time. Even this did not work. Inspecting the tank, it looked like a patch was attempted with some sort of putty, and there were streams of water shooting through the putty which I shared with the owner. The plumber never arrived. The owner was not sympathetic to our situation, with the defense that "we can't predict when maintenance issues may come up." However, it seems like this was a known issue, as the printed instructions when we arrived noted that the toilet was problematic.

This is a wonderful house! The kitchen was well appointed. The house was super clean with beautiful new bathrooms. The hosts were great. Our family had a wonderful time. The garden and the dock were sublime. The only draw back for us were the beds: There are no beds on the first floor, which was tricky for my elderly dad- and some of the mattresses were old and uncomfortable, so we ended up sleeping on sofas and where ever we could find comfort. In the end, we worked it out and we were all able to get a good sleep eventually. I believe the owners are refining it as they are able to, and this house is a gem. They were really wonderful and accommodating. The neighbors were lovely too. I hope to come back next year. We had a great family holiday in this home!

Lakewood, Lake Chautauqua, and the house is an outstanding combination. The property was immaculate and the hosts where amazing. Three generations of our family enjoyed making dinners, views of the lake from the back patio, and sunsets on the dock. With our boat moored at the dock, we enjoyed water sports and exploring all 18 miles of Chautauqua. Highly recommend!

Great experience. Very accommodating host and the property was perfect for our family of 3 young kids. The dock was great to fish off of and rented a boat for the week. Beautiful lake views.
