Lovely host. A beautifully place.
It seems there was some religious ceremony and the mosque nearby was loud quite often. No complaints as it is the local culture and tradition, and we respect them. It was just a bit uncomfortable to relax.

We like everything about Bata Merah Homestay. It's clean, spacious, homey, and very friendly and helpful staff & owner! Not too forget they served a great and tasty breakfast!
We definitely will be staying at Bata Merah next time.

We never slept so well before in Java than in this bed. But even better was the service- the staff was always nice, helpful and very welcoming. Even when our helmet of the scooter fell down and some plastic broke they didn‘t say anything when we told them. Besides, we were offered late Check-out (until 1pm) after the Ijen tour.
Really nothing to complain about!

spacious rooms with good A/C and nice breakfast
our room was right next to the mosque which was on speaker for 4 hours at a time. we politely asked to change rooms because the other side of the property was quieter, we got a lecture how we need to respect other people’s culture and got charged to change rooms even though there were no other people staying here…
