Chalet Grizzly is modern, well-furnished and finished to a high standard. By far the standout feature is the bedrooms, with the 5 double rooms being genuinely spacious. Only the bunk room is on the small side. Location is good, although up a very steep hill from the centre of town. I estimate well under 5 mins walk to the main Jandri Express lift and there are others that are closer. Finally, we very much enjoyed the hot tub and the sauna, which heats up extremely quickly. Only negative is that the hot tub is accessed via two of the bedrooms - not ideal if you're with friends (as opposed to say family).

By far the largest downside is that the living space is small - I think it would be a huge struggle to have 12 people in the living area / kitchen and it would be impossible to all eat at the same time. We were only 5 (3 adults, 2 children) and found that the space was fine for us but we couldn't imagine having many more. The kitchen has good appliances but a limited range of cooking utensils - it would have been a challenge to make a proper meal, especially with more people. Compounding the small living space, the outdoor space is small (balcony's only), with just 2 outdoor chairs provided. Furthermore the orientation of the property means that all the outdoor spaces are in the shade for the whole day - there was nowhere to sit in the sun and relax, which was a major disappointment. In terms of sleeping, we found the beds hard but reasonably comfortable. As with many French properties though, pillows are dreadful! Next time we will take our own. If you are driving (as we did), it's worth knowing that the driveway is EXTREMELY tight to get in and out of. I can't understand why it was built this way - it regularly took us 5 minutes to get the car out and onto the road in the mornings. Not a major problem but a frustration nonetheless. Finally, we were disappointed that there was no information regarding activities in resort, places to eat, etc. The chalet would benefit from having a guest directory listing some of these things with contact details. That being said, the tourist office were excellent so this also wasn't a major problem.
