El Morrón Algarinejo by Ruralidays

Great holiday spot, but definitely "off the beaten track". Fair trek up and down the hills to travel anywhere and a decent, sturdy car is recommended.

Een fantische week gehad in El Morron. Het huisje, het uitzicht, de stilte, het zwembad...alles top. Klein minpuntje, er is echt niets aanwezig. Dus beste huurders, zorg dat je voorzien bent om nog boodschappen te doen. Er is een groot warenhuis op een half uur rijden in Rute. Wij lieten wat kruiden staan en hopen dat de volgende huurders dit kunnen gebruiken. Granada, Malaga, Cordoba liggen op anderhalf uur rijden. In omgeving kun je prachtige wandelingen doen.

The setting of the cortijo is magnificent, its hard for a picture to do it justice. The vista from the terrace and pool is phenomenal. It was also really nice to have the three mature trees and grass as it allowed our little one to play outside without the worries of getting too hot in the midday sun. The pool was a great size and a welcome place to cool off for all. The owners take great care of the property and they were generous to share produce from the garden onsite regularly. The tomatoes especially were very tasty. With the changeover day being a Saturday and all local and not so local shops being closed on the Sunday it would have been nice to have a wee welcome pack, bread, milk, wine etc? But it is not essential and we had a hearty afternoon meal in nearby Algarinejo (20mins, there is also a well stocked supermarket here). It was however disappointing that none of the little things like salt, oil, herbs were present at the property from previous visitors. We have stayed in a lot of self catering villas and this was the first where this was the case. We visited Granada (80mins) and Iznajar (15mins) and both were well worth it. Walk to the Castillo at the top of the hill in Iznajar and you will be rewarded both with great views and a nice wee restaurant to energize in. Overall the break and villa was just what we wanted, to relax and enjoy a break in the sun with family. A good choice.

Wij zijn liefhebbers van Andalusia en wisten ongeveer wat we konden verwachten. Toch bleek Cortijo een zeer aangename verrassing -door de ligging rustig gelegen op een top van een heuvel met daardoor een schitterdend uitzicht.over een enorme vallei) -door het klimaat, want ondanks de hoge temperaturen (ca. 35 graden) altijd een lekker briesje (door de stijgwinden) waardoor het heel goed vertoeven is.-door de prachtige lommerrijke tuin (neem een hangmat mee!)-door het huisje zelf heel verzorgd en eenvoudig maar prachtig ingericht wij vonden het klein museum en ondanks zijn eevoud zeer comfortabel, ook rondom het huis.Als je opwinding en vertier zoekt, moet je niet hier zijn, want in de direkte omgeving is behalve natuururschoon en rustieke dropjes, weinig vertier. De grotere (cultuurijke) plaatsen Malaga Cordoba en Grananda zijn allemaal ongeveer anderhalf uur rijden.
