About this villa rental
Some days in La Fortuna are for waterfalls and hot springs. Others are for staying home, making breakfast together and letting the afternoon unfold around the pool. Villa Cocos gives families and friends room for both, with four bedrooms, a private pool and hot tub, and a rainforest setting in Chachagua.
TIME TOGETHER, AT YOUR OWN PACE
Start with coffee on the birdwatching deck, looking into the greenery. The kitchen makes it easy to prepare breakfast before a tour or share a meal at home, while the living room gives everyone a place to catch up between outings. The pool is private to your stay, so a swim can fit around your plans.
The yoga platform offers space for your own practice or a stretch after a day out. There is also a fire pit and a playground with swings. Children need adult supervision around the water, play areas and trails.
SLEEPING ARRANGEMENTS
The four bedrooms and three bathrooms let your group stay in one home while having separate places to rest:
• Bedroom 1 - Master Room: one king bed and a private bathroom.
• Bedroom 2 - Bamboo Room: one queen bed.
• Bedroom 3 - Pool Room: a sleeping area beside the pool, with a private bathroom.
• Bedroom 4 - Platform Room: a raised sleeping platform reached by stairs, with an additional sleeping area below.
The raised platform requires stairs. If a particular room arrangement or an additional sleeping option is important for your group, please message us before booking so we can help you plan.
EXPLORE THE NATURAL SETTING
Walking trails and river areas are part of the family farm and are shared; you may meet other people there. These areas are separate from the villa's private pool and hot tub. There is also access to a community pool. Nature is part of the experience here: wildlife sightings vary, and insects and changing weather are normal in a tropical setting.
LOCATION AND PRACTICAL DETAILS
This vacation rental in the La Fortuna area is about a 15-minute drive from downtown. You can head into town for groceries or dinner and plan days out around Arenal, then return to your own space. A car or arranged transportation makes getting around easier.
• Hot water is available in the showers only.
• The hot tub takes about two hours to warm up; cooler weather can make it take longer.
• The pool, hot tub, trails and river areas require attentive supervision of children.
Our local team can help coordinate tours and private transportation. These services require advance arrangements and have an additional cost.

Enjoyed our stay. Support was amazingly fast on any issue or question. Bird watching was great off of deck. Saw 3 species of Toucans. Would stay again.

We really enjoyed our stay here. Beautiful layout and the property, rooms and outside were cool. Downside is the pool is pretty cold, the hot tub looses water and has an open drain near that is home to many mosquitoes. There is no air conditioner in the living room but if you keep the bedrooms open and air on, it does a decent job at cooling the place down. The patio is awesome!! Saw a toucan and many other birds outside, that was cool. Private are but near a lot of food and store. No one had an issue with the road noise, but I wear earplugs when loud and it was fine. Rooms stay dark. There is some sealing issues for all the sliding doors, so expect some bugs, but none of them bothered us. All in all it was a great place to stay for the discount price we got.

Sad I was only able to book 3 nights here due to availability, after the first I was so happy that’s all I had. Don’t get me wrong the house and landscapes are gorgeous, but…. The mattresses are hard as rocks. AC unit in bedrooms keeps bedrooms cool, but it didn’t dent the main body of the house. The online listings that I kept referring back to because I didn’t want to bother the host were completely outdated info, from the name of the Wi-Fi, checkout time, to the code to get in (I didn’t service to see WhatsApp messages until after I could get to the house so the screenshots of the details sent from the Vrbo were all I had). The listing said there was a washer and dryer, but it was out of order and they knew about it already but didn’t tell us. The house has been added on in several places to expand it, but wasnt sealed, so bugs were getting in. Paper thin walls. It’s next to an insanely busy rode that never sleeps, so you hear motorcycles passing your window all night, but if you’re able to fall asleep there’s a rooster that starts its thing from 12 am - 4 am. It was awful. I can’t imagine that rooster not waking every single guest up it was relentless. And smaller things like an exposed drain by the hot tub that had a thick swarm of mesquites entering/exiting all day. Checkout showed 11:30 I believe on guest details in Vrbo but host messaged me asking when we were leaving because he said checkout was 10… house was missing a lot. Host made it sound like I used it all…
