About this house rental

Built in 2013, Water's Edge is a secluded, warm, & rustic 2nd story home situated above a horse barn turned epic HIGH BARR Real Estate office with perhaps the best view in the county! Enjoy the sunrise over the pond from the 12'x30' deck, or the animals grazing to the south. The Farm Stay is entertainment central boasting of a large open living room/full kitchen with a wood pellet stove for your enjoyment on those cold winter nights! Not to mention catch&release fishing, corn hole, tetherball, volleyball, building a bonfire, or grilling out! Ask about our homegrown ground beef!

The space
All of the recreational amenities are visible from the house and furnished deck. You may find the sporting equipment and chairs for the fire pit conveniently located in the storage room on the main level just past the steps leading to the apartment. Firewood is stacked near the burn pit for your convenience.

The living area, and each bedroom are individually climate controlled for your comfort.

Guest access
Waters Edge Racing Stables boast of the 2 Bedroom home above the former stables. Incredible views in all directions including the 1.5 acre stocked pond. Two flights of steps lead you to the entry door with a lit key pad for your convenience. Please park on the dedicated gravel drive directly in front of the steps leading to the apartment. Do not park on or block the driveway leading to the back of the barn or behind the barn.

So I'm going to be honest here, I kind of want to gate keep this one. lol Everything in the listing is as 100% as described (or better) Barndominium w/2BR, 1Bath, LR, full kitchen (minus dishwasher), Washer, Dryer, deck, fire pit by the pond. The host is kind enough to provide folding chairs and wood for the fire pit, so be sure to enjoy an evening by the fire! When I first pulled in I thought that this was going to be one of the uncomfortable places where the rental was in the backyard and the host would be visible and underfoot for the entire stay. Boy was I wrong. If I didn't KNOW the host was on property, I would never had known. There's quite literally a barn between the hosts home and the rental property so it's quite private. The place is immaculate. Wood floors, nice comfy beds, HOT water (be careful, it'll surprise you) the works. I only had one complaint, and quite frankly given the privacy due to it's location, it's probably a quibble. There's no curtains in the front living room/kitchen windows. This feels odd when you realize that at with the lights on, everything is on full display. But... in the mornings it leads to AMAZING sunrises so make sure to get up early at least once to enjoy! Oh, and make sure to go say good morning to George (I've no idea what his name ACTUALLY is, but it's what we took to calling the horse that's on the property) The best thing I can say about the property is to ask the question "Will we stay here again?" Oh yes 100%

We had a 3 hour drive through a snow storm but were very happy to get to Waters Edge and take a minute to breathe. It was a beautiful snowy scene looking out over the pond and seeing the horse buck & gallop about. Beds were incredibly comfy & sheets were very soft! Home was clean and welcoming. Easy entry instructions. We really enjoyed our quick stay and would definitely love to stay here in the summer months. Thank you for the simple touches of snack bars, water & pop in the fridge. Floors are pretty creaky and loud throughout the home but that didnt bother us.

We loved that the living spaces were all on one level so we could hear the kids in their bedroom if anything was needed. Decor simple and tasteful. Peaceful surroundings, saw many types of birds, good view of sky/clouds out the side/kitchen windows for sunset. There is a gate at top of stairs so kids can play on porch, which is nice as well. Close to the freeway, but didn't hear freeway noise inside the home. We had a great time!

Beatiful location. We stopped on our way South from Western WI to TN & this was far more peaceful, comfortable, & refreshing way to spend our night rather than a typical hotel. Couldn't have had a more beatiful setting to wake up and sip coffee on the East facing deck! Was a great place to rest for a night, and would be a beautiful place to spend a few days if you had something going on in the nearby area.

This place is just beautiful! Spotless, comfortable, serene place to stay. The bed was so comfy, furnishings were great. Fireplace was so cozy. Beautiful fall views. Would be a fun place for a family to enjoy the outdoors. Heaters a little noisy in the bedrooms. Traffic noise from expressway, but not too intrusive. Not clear how to find controls to start pellet stove. Super nice when we did! All in all, a beautiful country get away.

There are so many good things about this property, so we'll just list the highlights: 1. Clean, clean, clean! 2. Generous host who was very responsive. 3. Location was great, only 6 minutes from the casino. 4. The pond was well stocked and we caught the biggest fish to date. We will absolutely be back to this property and already looking at dates in the near future. Don't pass this one up!

This was a great place for an overnight on our trip. We stayed 2 nights, one coming and one going home. The access is pretty easy off of the interstate. It is small and simple but beautifully set up. You walk into a large front room with couch and tv on one side, kitchen with high top table on other side. If you walk straight through this area there is the bathroom with a bedroom to the right and left. Everything is clean and set up beautifully. There is a split for ac in the main room and each bedroom. This is great as you can each set it to your own comfort level, but the downside is they are a little noisy and right above your head. Kitchen has a full sized refrigerator, electric stove, no dishwasher. We cooked one night. Had all we needed to do a very simple meal. Everything on shelves and in drawers was neat and laid out for ease of finding things. Just the basic needs are there. They have drinks (soda and water) available in the fridge. The downside was the traffic noise. You can see the interstate even though it is a ways away- there is nothing in between to block the noise. We did not spend much time outside because of the noise. Inside one bedroom you could here the interstate. I was in the other bedroom and with my white noise machine I travel with I did not hear the interstate or the ac. Beds are very comfortable. There are stairs that you have to climb to bring your suitcases up. She does not send the code of door until 3 on the day of arrival so make sure you have access to the vrbo site.

Simply amazing. Sadly we were in town for a funeral, but this peaceful, clean space was so comforting to return to after long days. We spent evenings on the deck listening to the crickets and bull frogs while the stars lit up the night sky and lightning bugs did the same in the fields. Talk about peaceful! I had one request early into our stay and Alicia was more than prompt tending to a small maintenance issue. Very impressed! Without a doubt we will be recommending this location to family and friends, and hope to stay again someday. Amazing that this property is also incredibly close to the interstate yet feels secluded once you’re there. The beds were very comfortable, and the space was perfect for our needs. The morning offered plenty of natural light inside, and I really enjoyed coffee on the covered deck watching the horses graze. Trust the reviews! You won’t be disappointed ~ this property along with Alicias attention to detail is a true gem.

I wanted to get away for a night and enjoy a peaceful evening in the country. That is exactly what I got. The property is beautiful with a couple of ponds and surrounded by woods. The accommodations are just as shown in the photos. It is nicely decorated, well maintained, even offered extras like bottled water, coffee, and even snack bars. The kitchen is fully equipped with cooking and eating implements: cookware, glasses, plates, etc. There is a volleyball net, tetherball pole, grill, and a fire pit outside as well. They get an A+ from me!
