About this cottage rental

The Lighthouse Cottage is a pet friendly rental with access to 125 feet of private beach. The beach, which is also pet friendly, has a fire pit, deck and beach hut. We also have a gazebo with electricity and a fire pit located in our grassy courtyard. A self-serve fish cleaning shed and boat trailer parking without disconnecting is available.
The beach is private for Driftwood guests only.
We are pet friendly - but a pet fee of $100.00 per stay will apply.
The cottage is no smoking inside.

Our Lighthouse Cottage is a cozy 420 sq feet, has a full bathroom with tub and shower, full size kitchen appliances, Wifi, local channels, heat/AC, 2 sets of built-in bunk beds and a built-in full size bed. The view from the front porch overlooks our private beach on the Sandusky Bay as well as the marina next door.

We are located in the heart of Vacationland near the friendly village of Bay View within walking distance of a fishing pier, Clemons Marina with boat rental, a ramp and dockage, town park, locally owned restaurant, convenience store/bait shop, laundry facility, as well as a bar & grill with outdoor seating and fabulous tiki bar.

Cedar Point, Lake Erie Islands, Marblehead lighthouse and many other local attractions are within a short drive from our central location. Walking trails in various parks and quarries.

Perfect location for fishing both Western basin and Western end of eastern basin of lake Erie. Easy access to take off in any direction. parking for rig was convenient and ample. Good place to stay.

We will never get tired of staying here. It is truly our family’s happy place where we typically unplug, unwind and enjoy each other’s company. While we did a lot of that, we also had some work to handle during our stay. They have added a wifi extender to the cottage and it worked famously when we had to connect our laptop and get a little work done. Very nice addition for those who need or want WiFi during their stay. We just love the quaint little town of Bay View and Driftwood is the perfect place to spend family time with yard games, board games, the beach, bonfires and fishing. Absolutely perfect getaway. .

We absolutely love staying here. We've been coming for years and will continue. The cottage itself is perfect for our family of 3. We enjoy all of the amenities provided, from grilling and eating outdoors to watching the sunsets from the private beach. Our 10 year old son loves that he's able to go across the street and fish from the beach whenever he wants. It's a quaint little town and everyone you encounter is very helpful and friendly. Perfect getaway and the views are breathtaking.

The cabin was nice for 3 people, but sleeping 6 would be tight and there probably wouldn’t have been enough hot water for all to take a shower. You wouldn’t want to rent to 2 couples, but a family would be ok - how the beds are set up. Had to use our hot spot, as the the Wi-Fi was too slow. The screened in front porch was the best attribute. The guys renting jet skis and etc. across the road were very accommodating. They lit a fire in the fire pit for us one night,too. They were fun to watch all week! Spraying for mosquitoes would be nice!

The atmosphere and location of the property was great. We love the area anyhow so it was nice to finally stay somewhere we haven’t stayed yet. The beds were slightly uncomfortable and hard to get used to but other than that it fit our needs just as we wanted!

A nice property with a beautiful view of the bay! Perfect for my family with the multiple bunk beds. We didn't have to cook any meals there or the kitchen would be tight. It was nice to have access to the beach, my son loved that! Unfortunately the rental next door decided to have a late night party (4 am) so that kind of ruined our last night but otherwise a great stay.

The property was amazing! Have a large family and rented the cottage along with the lodge for a week. There was no shortage of space or places for everyone to sleep. We were not on top of each other and everyone had their own space. Large living room and plenty of tables and space for everyone to eat. We had two boats along with 5 vehicles and never had to move vehicles. The private beach was awesome and great for all the kids. Nice rock point just off the property by Clemens marina that was great for the kids to fish. Brady and Shaw running the jet ski rentals were amazing and went above and beyond to make sure everything was clean and everyone was happy. Large yard and camp fire ring for games along with another fire ring on the beach. Clemens marina was awesome and very friendly. Pam did an amazing job and the process from booking to leaving was smooth. Always responds timely if there is any questions and makes sure that you enjoy yourself during your stay. I have stayed at many ABNBs and VRBOs and I would put this on the top of my list. Would rate higher if that was possible. Only downfall was the sand does not go far into the water and turns rocky. Minor detail with everything else it offers. The property is also located in the middle of countless things to do or see so no long drives for entertainment. Highly recommend!

We loved our stay here. It was within a short drive of Cedar Point, and easy access to a lot of what we wanted to see in Sandusky. The private beach was great, and the folks at the rental shack were very welcoming and helpful. Will certainly come back!

Property was very clean, communication with owners was excellent. Good location for our needs. The cabin is advertised as sleeping 6 and although there are 5 bunks and a full size bed so in fact it would, it would be cramped as the living area/kitchen is very small. Didn’t matter to us as it ended up only being 2 people. Overall good experience.

The cabin was well-maintained. You can tell the owner thought of just about everything for the guests. We enjoyed our stay at the cabin. It was within a reasonable distance to Cedar point which is the reason we were there. The main bed mattress is quite firm but that is my only complaint. Everything else was great.

DO NOT STAY HERE!!!! They have a Huge bed bug problem and they know about it and have had it for a long time. We found hundreds of Full grown adult bed bugs as soon as we decided to go to bed the first night. Of course we had to leave immediately with our two kids in the dark of night. Instead of a nice relaxing vacation we got the week from hell trying to get rid of the bugs. The owners knew they were there but let us come and took our money anyway. Absolutely terrible people that own this property! They do not have any insurance either we found out from our lawyer so nothing we could do. I have to say it again, DO NOT STAY AT ANY OF THESE PROPERTIES!!!

This cottage is very nice! It was very clean when we got there, and had some treats laying out for us. The host is a very great communicator and let us know everything we had to do. Definitely recommend this for a small group heading up to Sandusky :)

We absolutely loved staying at Driftwood Cottages! The property owners were amazing with communication and even left us special treats for our hikes. The cottage was tiny but very thoughtful on space. It was very clean and well cared for. We had a lot of fun on the private beach and at the bon fire. It is under newer ownership and we can not wait to go back to see what else they do with the property!
