Holiday Home in Dordogne

A beautiful location, very peaceful. Lots of room to sit, eat and relax outside. A short drive to a local town with supermarket, shops. Good reasonably priced restaurants.

This was our third stay at the property. The location is lovely and peaceful, but has easy access to the small town of Montpon for shops. There is also a boulongerie near by, just a few minutes by car. The host also makes his own wine and wine tasting is available.

There is outside seating, but us oldies would appreciate something a little more comfortable, A minor request. Nothing else

Super séjour au gîte Claud Delem. Le gîte est à cheval entre modernisme et rusticité, l'ensemble est très agréable. Il est très propre, les lits sont déjà prêts à notre arrivée et du linge de toilette est à disposition. L'immense pièce de vie est particulièrement agréable et le salon avec sa mezzanine font de ce gîte un lieux de repos et de détente très chaleureux. Sans compter l'accueil irréprochable et l'écoute de Jérémie et Anne-Françoise.

La proximité du chais en fait un lieu un petit peu humide, mais les déshumidificateurs font leur office. Un bon feu de cheminée assainira l'ambiance encore mieux.

The location was good, a short drive to the local boulongerie for fresh bread and easy reach of the local town of Montpon. It is a working vineyard with lovely grounds overlooking the vines. Table and chairs for sitting outside. Luckily we knew the area well so were able to get out and about easily.

Unfortunately, on arrival the original owner told us he had just sold the property. This wasn't a problem in itself. The new owner arrived on the Monday. He planned to renovate the other end of the barn to the gite, into an area for making wine. The work started immediately. Diggers, floor levelling, huge cement lorry, tree cutting. So tranquil it was not. The owner was very apologetic but he wanted it ready for this years harvest. Very bad timing. The gite itself was overall grubby. Needed a good deep clean thoughout.
