The booking process and figuring out the costs during booking was a little bit more challenging than the regular one-night hotel booking. But it was well worth the trouble. Besides Booking.com there is also Novasol, who organizes the stay and the local multi-lingual hosts who bring the key and assist if there are issues. You have the option to bring your own bedwear and towels (what we did) or rent them. There was an additional EUR 70 cost for cleaning and EUR 60 down payment for electricity. Electricity was EUR 15 for our 1-week stay, so we got EUR 45 back from the down payment during checking-out. The EUR 70+60 on check-in needed to be paid in cash. So a bit complicated to oversee the total costs, but for our stay in the week before Easter this was altogether still very reasonable and competitive for a 2-bedroom, 4-person apartment at such a location. The apartment is located on the 3rd floor of a building located near the sea. You can see the Mediterranean from the balcony, which is wonderful. The sea is a 3 minute walk from the front door downstairs, but it is a piece of coast from sandy colored rocks. For an actual sandy beach, it's more of a 10 minute walk north, direction La Mata. This was one of the more complete assorted apartments that we have been at the Spanish coast. There was really nothing that we missed and more facilities than we used. E.g. it comes with: access to unheated community swimming pool, fiber-speed wifi, television, satellite receiver, microwave, electric kettle, coffee maker, toaster, ceramic stove, electric oven, dish washer, washing machine, bath tub and shower, electric boiler, vacuum cleaner, consumables such as salt, dish soap, kitchen paper and oven paper. It's possible that we were the first visitors of the season, because on arrival (on a Sunday evening) the Wifi did not yet work. However, this was very adequately resolved the next Monday morning after we alerted Novasol through Booking.

Some things to prepare for (besides the complicated total costs): - The front door needs to be locked with a key, or else its stays unlocked. So if part of the family stays behind (e.g. to take a nap) you have to consider who takes the key and who opens the door. In our case the outgoing party would lock and take the key, but that means that the remaining people are basically locked inside, which could be a hazard in case of a fire. There is a key for the building door downstairs and a key for the apartment. Overall, the safety of the apartment is a plus. There are bars in front of the windows facing the outside gallery. So we felt safe leaving our stuff behind when going shopping or going to the beach. - There is a relatively small electric boiler for hot water. Taking showers is excellent. If you manage the water a bit, two people can take a shower in succession. But filling the bath tub with warm water can be challenge, because hot water can run out before the tub is filled.
