Le Mat Hostel

The location is perfect, close to the beach and located in the middle of the Larnaca old town. The staff is nice, the bed was clean and comfortable, the kitchen was nice and clean, and you can use the washing machine by paying 3 euros.

There were some ants in the room, the light in the showers turns off automatically after some time of inactivity (which is uncomfortable), and there's a lack of privacy for the top bunks of the beds, at least in the male dormitory rooms, as the curtains are very short

Beautiful hostel, the building is lovely and very spacious, high ceilings, feels very fancy. Beautiful courtyard to relax in, great facilities in the kitchen. Staff were excellent, myself and another female guest had a bad experience with a very creepy dodgy guy who had arrived that day and was staying in our room. We informed the staff what had happened and they immediately sent a staff member over who removed him from the hostel! Unfortunately with hostels sometimes you do get some dodgy people, but the way the staff dealt with it was 10/10 and im very glad they acted so quickly

If you arrive late you can't stay in the dorm so I had to upgrade to a private room the first night as I arrived around 1/2am

Excellent location, super friendly staff and good location

The bed was right next to the door around 30 cm from my head, even with ear plugs I was woke up constantly, my Google watch said I had the worst night's sleep of the year. The room was also very hot when they turned the air con off during a heat wave. The cleaning maybe started too early. Also didn't like the common area is also the smoking area, make them smoke outside the hostel 10 metres away haha
