Welcome to Mountain Top Escape! This comfortable, family friendly, fully furnished single-level 3/2 home is located in a quiet location on the "sunny side" of the Village of Cloudcroft at 8,900 feet and offers a mountain lifestyle with all the conveniences of village living. It's an easy five minute walk into the village for shopping, restaurants, and entertainment or to the brewery. It offers easy parking in front with car port, lots of natural light, spacious rooms, hardwood floors throughout, new bathroom and kitchen floors, a beautiful view from the wall of windows in the living room, fenced back yard, covered patio, and outdoor deck and sitting area with tables, chairs, glider, umbrellas and gas grill to enjoy those beautiful and relaxing mountain times!
Upon entering the home, the living room offers an open concept with dining area (table and six chairs) and a fully equipped kitchen including dishwasher, microwave, coffee maker, toaster, washer and dryer. There are three spacious bedrooms - primary
with queen bed, bathroom with shower, and smart TV; second with queen bed and TV; and a third with a full size bed. Internet, whole house WiFi, and full cable TV line-up (including HBO and NFL Network). All bedrooms have closets. Smart TVs in living room and master bedroom, TV in one bedroom has built-in DVD player. The primary bathroom has a shower, guest bathroom has a tub/shower combo. There are also two humidifiers for guests to use to help with the dry mountain air. Whole house water softener and new water heater installed June 2021 and new dishwasher installed October 2023 to help ensure a comfortable and pleasant stay.
We also offer discounts for longer stays: 1) Rent for 6 nights, get the 7th free, and 2) Rent for 28+ nights, get a 40% discount.
This is a great place to use as your base for hiking, sight seeing, golfing and skiing, tubing, and snow boarding in Cloudcroft or Ruidoso, or just relaxing and enjoying the cool, crisp, clean mountain air and beautiful skies and sunsets.

Some issues with check in, but owners got in contact with us to resolve. House had all necessities plus some, making it the best stocked rental we have been in ever (military couple - so quite a lot). Walkable to town but if there is snow 4wheel drive is required. Double bed was squeaky, teenager chose to sleep on the couch. Fireplace was fantastic. Loads of games, blankets and disks for sleeding. We had a great time.

I can't say enough positive things about this property, but I'll try. This is obviously someone's home away from home and it feels like you are staying at a relative's house. There are actually too many amenities to list including, board games, fully stocked spices, every cooking utensil we needed, a gas grill, even standard OTC medicines in the medicine cabinet. The hosts have conveniently labelled each drawer and cupboard with details about the contents. Want some trekking poles for your hikes -- it has them. Want some disks to slide down snow covered slopes or the dunes at White Sands -- it has them. There were only two of us, but it is obvious that it is roomy enough for a family. Prior to our arrival the hosts kept us updated about dining options both in Cloudcroft and in Alamogordo as well as recommending a nice hike. We took our morning coffee on the patio and at dinners on the deck. We got up close and almost personal with both a deer and elk family who regularly visited us. In short: if it's available, book it!
