Outside of the high season summer months, there is very little traffic. Over the past decades more and more private homes and holiday cottages have been added to this originally very small hamlet which stretches along 7 km of soft beach and sand dunes. However, El Palmar has not lost any of its original charm and is still predominantly a rural location. This is paradise for anyone who loves unspoilt wild beaches. We highly recommend a one-hour walk to Conil along the beach and the protected landscape behind it. On the narrow coastal road of El Palmar you will find plenty of bars and restaurants - from simple and rustic food to sophisticated fish cuisine. There is a small but well stocked supermarket, pharmacy, fishmonger and a butchers shop in the village.
