Taj Chia Kutir Resort & Spa Darjeeling

Fabulous property in the middle of Makhaibari tea estate, well manicured gardens, mesmerising mountain views. Very helpful and enthusiastic staff at every place of the hotel. Tour of tea estate helped us to appreciate culture and lifestyle of native people.

nothing much to find fault, maintain property the same way

The location was good, the property was very beautifully located. the rooms were large, well decorated. however, the only downside was most of the rooms were inside facing, so the valley view is not there. Although we booked 3 rooms they were all inside facing.

1. The amenities were basic. Few games were not working like the air hockey. The child play area was also under construction/maintenance. Also the high tea was not a buffet, and not included with the room which was strange. generally its complimentary with the room. 2. There was a Tea experience session as well, which was not really insightful. it was at 3 PM and went on till 4:30 PM. Tea tasting have only 3 times of tasting in 1.5 hours of session it was more of a selling session than tasting. 3. The breakfast buffet definitely needs a refresh, there were not too many options to eat. it was basic for a 5-star property like Taj. 4. The location says Kurseong, but Kurseong is an hour's drive from the hotel.

Unique place and ambience

Walking is diffucult because of steep terrain

This property has dynamic pricing policy, which was not communicated, while booking. This is considered as unfair trade practice. So henceforth I will not refer Booking. Com for room or travel booking. I
