Palolem Cottages

This is a very basic but budget friendly accommodation. The best thing about it was the location it was in very close proximity to the beach just 5 minutes walk away and just around the corner there were plenty of decent restaurants, a booze shop and general stores. You have everything you need right outside but it's still a nice chill vibe. The host was a nice guy, hard working and helpful. The bed was comfortable and clean enough and the AC was good.

The shower was not working and so we had to resort to buckets of mostly cold water which was inconvenient. There are gaps in the walls, door and drain which allowed the odd cockroach access, this is a tropical location so we expect a few bugs but could be a bit more sealed in places. The wifi was ok when it worked but we did experience drop outs occasionally. The room is as basic as it gets and could use some updating in areas and sone additionalcleaning and tidying in the external areas. If you expect luxury you will be disappointed. If you are used to basic/rustic accommodation it's fine.

Best staff, clean rooms, best stay and affordable

As the description claims, it really is close to the beach and the shacks. It offers perfectly acceptable rooms at a very cheap price. Attached cafe served very nice Indian breakfasts.

The bathroom had a bit of mould but, nothing I couldn't live with. A bit scared of the buffalos 🐃 hanging around outside.

1 min walking distance to the beach over the road near some houses, a restaurant. Nice mattress, big double comfy bed. The owner was nice enough to wait for me next day to exchange some money to pay him cash ( all of them in India + taxi want cash ) for all 5 - 6 days

I arrived late around 4 p.m. I didn't have toilet paper, I had to ask the next day. The room was never broomed / mopped in 5 - 6 days stay. I could've asked for but I'm the customer. If you go to sleep before 11 it's noisy but it didn't affect me. Locals will talk outside the hut, scream, etc. in the morning but that's India. Leaving luggage after check-out didn't feel safe but it is what it is. I don't recommend Palolem beach as a destination
