TV would have been nice for the wife.

The staff was always really friendly and helpful. The room was nice, but I wasn't 100% clear that I booked a room that will have all 4 beds inside, because images on the site were a bit confusing. Restaurant is really nice, and has good food, it is convenient to eat there, especially when they bring tables out next to pool.A big plus for this hotel is that the guests can use beach and sunbeds on Kendwa Rocks beach which is nice and close, and very good for Kendwa - so it is almost like this hotel is "beachfront".

I think they had some problems with the pool while we were there, so it was emptied out at times, filters didn't work at times - so it was barely usable - but you don't come to Zanzibar for the pool, heh. Also the power cuts are very often, but that doesn't have anything to do with the hotel itself.

Most of the staff were friendly, kind, and in a good mood, which we appreciated. The security presence seemed to be 24/7, which gave us some peace of mind, especially since our pool doors couldn’t be locked. Breakfast was fine — not a huge variety, but the food quality was okay.

Room & Comfort: The air conditioning is locked to 20 °C, and you can only increase the temperature, not lower it. Even at 20 °C, the room felt quite hot, especially during the night. The blanket was torn in multiple spots, and the mosquito nets on the doors had large holes, making them ineffective. The doors leading to our private pool couldn’t be locked and were accessible from the outside, which didn’t feel safe. Cleanliness & Maintenance: The overall room cleanliness was below average. Beach towels were very worn out and didn’t look nice. After five days, we were told to leave our key at the reception if we wanted the room to be cleaned — this should really be communicated on the first day. Most hotels usually have a second key or a system for cleaning when guests are not in the room. The Wi-Fi in the room was also very slow.
