日月庵 BnB Sunmoon

The host Carmay is super nice, cooks very very well for the breakfast and gives a lot of useful insights. He also helped us book some tour via phone. The room was wonderful as well, a nice mix of modern and traditional design. It was also the biggest room we had in Japan (finally some space for the suitcases!) The position is also good, very close to one of the geishas district, and at walking distance from the main attractions, but also outside of the chaos. Everything can be done by foot, but we used the city's bike sharing system, which was also very useful.

If I must find one thing, it's maybe the soundproofing, like almost always in Japan. The hotel gets quiet once everybody is asleep, before off you're a light sleeper you might get done disturbance luckily the hotel has only 4 rooms so it's limited noise anyway

CarMay was such a great host, he was friendly, attentive and knowledgeable. He cooked a 'western' style vegetarian breakfast each day, and even offered to cook us a Japanese home style breakfast on our final day. He made fresh bread each day for each pair of guests, and was happy for us to take this as snacks. He also took our cases to the 7 Eleven for the luggage forwarding service, and dropped us at Kanazawa station for our train ! Our room, Gold, was spacious, with an excellent en-suite. It took some getting used to the Tatami mat beds, though it was a great experience to try them... Thank you CarMay.
