About this house rental
Keep the world and your cares walled away in this private mini-estate in the heart of the historic and centrally located Movie Colony neighborhood. Once the private homes and getaways for the stars of the Silver Screen, you can soak up the desert’s healing rays in your own enclosed retreat or stroll out to the Uptown Design and Shopping District of Palm Springs.
Fully fenced and walled, this home offers a full front yard that has plenty of room for yard games with above ground spa and fire pit with amazing direct views of the San Jacinto Mountains that frame Downtown Palm Springs while the backyard’s 20+ ft. hedge offers you an even more private oasis with al fresco dining, plenty of seating and lounging areas, a sparkling pool, and fire pit.
This spacious 4 bedroom, 5 bath home offers loads of entertaining space with two large casual living areas that allow your group to spread out and enjoy your holiday. Entering through the front door, there is a large and open living/dining room. Casual seating by the television, conversational seating near the gas fireplace, a baby grand piano and ample dining table, this room hosts your entire group. To the right, you have the North wing of the house. It holds the spacious and well-stocked kitchen and breakfast nook. There’s also the family/game room (with a guest bathroom), work and play areas along with one of the 4 guest (en-suite) bedrooms.
On the other side of the house, down the hallway to the left of the living room, is the South wing of the house. Two of the guest rooms, each with en-suite bathrooms, are on opposite sides and then the master bedroom is at the end of the hallway. The master is spacious with ensuite bathroom, large walk-in cedar closet, and window seat view of the backyard and pool. All of the bedrooms throughout the home have flat screen TVs; there are also large flat screen TVs in both living rooms; both with BluRay DVD players.
This beautiful vacation rental is a short drive, bike ride or even walk to downtown Palm Springs, with its many bars, shops, restaurants, and art galleries. Ruth Hardy Park that offers public tennis courts is also just minutes away. Other Palm Springs attractions are similarly a short drive away, from area casinos and gambling, to world renowned spa resorts, tennis, golfing, and the Palm Springs Aerial Tramway.
The Movie Colony is a premier neighborhood of Palm Springs. The neighborhood is rich with architecture and history. It should be noted the city has sound ordinances that are strictly enforced. The owner(s) like to stress this home is ideal for a dream vacation and relaxation but is by no means a “party-central” home. Each guest is expected to be as good a neighbor as the owner(s) themselves. Special events like weddings are NOT allowed.

We had such a wonderful time at this VRBO!!! The house is set up like a compound with the front and back yards fully fenced in. We had kids and dogs and we felt totally secure that they were so safe! The house was wonderful and spacious, pool was luxurious and deep enough to stay cold (even in 107 degree weather). Shade comes over the pool in the afternoon to provide much needed shade. The property manager was also soooo gracious, reaponsive and helpful. We loved everything about it, no notes!

We had a wonderful time with our family. The house was everything it said it would be. The layout of the house so accommodates a large family and grandchildren. The pool was warm at no extra expense, which was nice. We want to rent it again next year.

The home could use a little updating but it’s spacious, clean, and in a great location near downtown and in a quiet neighborhood. The yard is great, and the hot tub perfect for sunsets. Kitchen is very well supplied. We’d definitely return.

Home had a good layout and was in great location. A lot to like but had a lot of dust in the home when we checked in and problems with bbq and spa. Management was responsive but owners need to make some improvements.
