Cabañas Río Escondido en La Fortuna

Very nice location right next to the river! We spotted some amazing birds and animals! Pools are lovely and with fresh water of the river! Kitchen was well equipped and had everything we needed. Staff was very friendly! Would highly recommend!

The setting was amazing! We thoroughly enjoyed swimming in the river in the back and having morning coffee in our back balcony taking in the lush greenery and ingesting the sounds of the fauna and rush of the river. It centred all of my chakras and cleansed my soul. Namaste.

I found the bed too firm, but my friends were okay with theirs. Also, it would have been nice if there were some basic rations in the kitchen (sugar/salt/pepper etc). Also, there was no shampoo and conditioner/hairdryer in the bathroom, which would have made it better.

Large room. Basic but clean. Friendly staff. The surroundings of the cabane were a bit of a mystery to us during our 2 night stay. The outside garden area was really big but the swimming pool, bar area etc (not that i saw it mentioned on the ad) was quite run down. A bit of investment and it could be really awesome. Still a good place to stay for visiting la fortuna

The property is lovely and seems to be well cared for and the location is reasonably convenient for all the big activities in La Fortuna. We were traveling with six so needed space, which is why I chose this location - the 4 bedroom cabin had I think 16 beds and 3 bathrooms.

Unfortunately, the house was pretty run down and there were several things that made it a rough experience. The mattresses were incredibly uncomfortable, to the point where several of us could barely sleep. The whole house felt damp. We found a washer and dryer outside but they didn’t work well (no heat in the dryer, just a spin cycle, so with the weather being so rainy we left with a lot of damp clothes). There is a small coffee pot but no coffee, which is fine but knowing that in advance would have been helpful as we had stopped at the market prior to our arrival. The pools are tiny, not clean and weren’t even half full, so that was a big disappointment for the kids. Overall, we didn’t spend much time there so we still had a great trip, but after the fact I looked at AirBnb’s and realized that for nearly the same price we could have found much nicer accommodations.
