6 Monkbar Court - sleeps 2 guests in 1 bedroom

This house was so cute, full of british charm, just what we wanted. The location was perfect, and we had everything we needed. The only downside is we thought it lacked a bit of decor, especially in the bedroom (color on the walls, wallpaper, cushions, blankets, trickets, etc.) to make it more cosy. It also lacked a coffee table in the living room to put drinks down while watching TV, and a small table and 2 chairs in the backyard. There was also useless furniture in the bedroom and the bed was too low to put our luggage under. Since space is limited, it's important to maximize it. That being said, we loved the british charm of the house its history, its location and its price. We will stay there again if back in York.

Very cute place just a short walk to the minster. Near shopping and restaurants. We particularly enjoyed Ambiente Tapas and the Royal Oak nearby. Close to a grocery and Shambles Market - everything in the city walls is walkable. Only drawback was making the final payment via wire which was more complicated than expected (maybe because it was an international transfer), but we loved the location so it was worth the extra effort.

Such a characterful little cottage and a wonderful location, walkable to everywhere in the city centre and only five minutes to the Minster. It was great to be able to shop and cook for myself (Tesco Express only a few minutes' walk away) so I didn't have to spend a lot on eating out, and I had somewhere to come back to and relax late afternoon after a full day of sightseeing. I often don't sleep very well when away from home but the bed was SO comfortable - I even tried to find a label on the mattress so I could buy the same kind! I also really appreciated that the duvet wasn't too thick as I prefer a thinner one and often get too hot at night. The shower was also excellent - really good water pressure and easy to control the temperature. The kitchen is fully equipped and bedding, towels, washing up liquid and laundry tabs also provided. My only minor note is that the toilet roll holder could do with fixing because it falls off the wall every time it's used, but it didn't spoil the holiday! It might also be an idea to label the fridge switch - it is weirdly positioned half way up the wall and next to the light-switch so one night I accidentally turned it off and found the fridge full of water the next morning because all the ice in the freezer had melted. But I loved my week staying at Monkbar Court and would highly recommend it.

What a gem! The place is cozy and location is amazing. We’d love to stay again some day.
