The location was perfect for the theatre and parking really close.

On return from the theatre, the staff were a bit stressed. Apparently the night porter hadn't shown? A few groups of guests, who were staying for the theatre that night also, all got back at the same time. It wasn't great, poor girl from reception tried her best but it was chaos at the bar. Also, the food wasn't great, edible but for the price disappointing. Breakfast was ok.

Clean hotel with comfortable beds (pillows a little bit too soft that’s my opinion), great shower and toiletries. Had a good breakfast, would have got dinner but at time of booking there was no deal. Good location

The staff ere brilliant - even under immense pressure when we arrived as not enough staff ! Same lady was running the bar and reception!

Accomdating, attentive and friendly staff made the visit

Receptionist on arrival was particularly friendly, genuinely seeming interested in our visit, chatty. The chef was accommodating to our needs, offering to do us some food despite it being between lunch and dinner, and being short staffed at the time.

Ideal for my requirements

Hotel was ideally located to where I was attending that evening. The car park was a little expensive but close to the hotel (just needed to cross a busy road) Reception and Bar area were clean and modern Room was also clean and modern with all the expected facilities and supplies and the bed was comfortable Breakfast was good - selection of pastries, cereals, juices, tea, coffee. Continental and Full English options and yoghurts

There was a big gap under the main entry door, so it let a lot of light into the room - I had to put a towel down to block it out, so that I could sleep

Honestly, hard to pick anything bad with it. The rooms had no water in it to drink. But we got jugs in the bar. Was a little bit annoying with 3 small kids to go down getting water but apart from that nothing else

Location was great, the bathroom and rooms were clean and good size. Towels were nice and soft

Beds weren’t as comfortable as other hotel chains. Sofa bed not big enough for 2 children to share comfortably. We paid for parking when we left, however we asked the staff about this when checking out. My brother didn’t pay for parking on leaving the hotel as he wasn’t prompted that they needed too. He called them once he had left to check, to be told that they only charge people for parking if they remember! So we paid and he didn’t which isn’t very good or fair.

A pleasant surprise

The room was large, clean, modern and well equipped. The woman at check-in was friendly and helpful. Breakfast was very good, as was the steak I had for dinner. It was thick cut, easy to cut and tasty.😊 The chef was friendly and, I believe, cared about the meals he was sending out.

My only criticisms are that 2 lifts are too few (one was broken) and I needed a chair in my room, so that I could work there. Don't try to have everyone work downstairs and spend money. Many will ot want to do so.

The staff are so unhelpful! Had a man check us in at reception who did not speak and was very unhelpful, the last serving another customer was the one responding to our questions and actually answering us. We used the hotel restaurant where we were told there was a wait for food, we said this was fine. We were ready to order our food and were told we were not allowed yet as we had to give the chef time, we waited and waited. Finally ordered our food it came, asked for another round of drinks got told no again - we had to wait to order we had to give the waiter time at this moment. We ended to not receiving our last order of drinks or them even being taken as we appeared to be such an inconvenience. We woke early the following morning and seen other guests having brown paper bags of breakfast items such as pastries and take away coffee. We was with our two young children who were hungry, we asked if we could pay for a breakfast and take this away in a bag even if we had to pay full price. I got laughed at my the worker and tutted and said ‘no takeaway’. My husband asked the person behind the reception counter if this was possible for some pastries for the children and we will pay for breakfast, yet she was very unhelpful and said ask the lady who she saw clearly just tut at myself and laugh. I would not recommended this hotel in the future, the rooms are clean and that’s all I can say for it. The pillows are also awful! May as well sleep without them. The service was awful, unwelcoming, unfriendly and very very unprofessional. I will not be staying again.

Great place to stay for an overnighter

Nice big airy rooms and social areas. The gym was functional and clean - perhaps a bit small but fine when 3 people using it.

Staff serving breakfast was very rude, I was made to feel I had inconvenienced her by attending the dinning hall for breakfast. Though the excellent chef made up for it!
