Central heating keeps the home comfortable, and WiFi supports streaming, remote work, or video calls. A dedicated workspace in a room with a door makes it easy to balance downtime and productivity.

The kitchen is fully equipped for preparing meals at home, and the dining areas invite long, shared dinners after a day exploring the island. Bedroom and bathroom essentials are provided, including linens and towels, so you can pack light and settle in quickly. Laundry is available in the building for added convenience, especially for longer stays.
Outdoor living by the creek
Outdoor living remains a highlight year-round. The private, fully fenced backyard opens to the creek, where herons, egrets, and other coastal wildlife are frequent visitors. After rain, the yard may be wet, and being close to the water means bug repellent can be helpful at times. The patio, & grill offer a simple way to enjoy the outdoors even in cooler weather. The cottage is pet-friendly, and dogs are welcome. Cats are not allowed. Self check-in with a smart lock and free parking on the premises make arrival and departure easy.

Location is a major part of the experience. Assateague Island and the National Seashore are less than a 15-minute drive away, offering access to beaches, trails, and the famous wild ponies. On the way, you’ll pass through downtown Chincoteague with its local shops, cafes, and restaurants - close enough for convenience, yet far enough to return each evening to a quieter lane by the creek.

The backyard and creek are great for spending time outside. Please do know that after rains, the yard may be wet. Also, if you'll be spending time at the creek, many of our guests find bug-repellent helpful. This comes with the territory of being coastal and having a creek, of course!
We often take our three little kids and dog to the cabin with us, so we're very family- and dog-friendly. Unfortunately we don't allow cats (we're allergic).

House was exactly as advertised. Everything worked as expected. This house is one of the few in this town that offered linens, a big selling point for us.

The house was clean, comfortable, and well-stocked with everything we needed for our stay. However, I was disappointed that the fire pit, one of the main features advertised, was rusted and broken. It would have been nice to enjoy a working fire pit as shown in the listing. Overall, the home itself was pleasant, but the outdoor amenities could use some maintenance.

We actually passed the house the first time because the photo is photoshopped and does not represent what the house currently looks like. It smelled musty upon arrival and there were two dehumidifiers in the house. We had the air conditioning set on 70 and we still had to empty the large dehumidifier four times and they small one six times and we were not even there for 48 hours. We tried to get a late check out because the place was not rented the following day, but they could not accommodate us because of their cleaning crew schedule. Check out was at 10:00 a.m., so we had to get up early and do a bunch of work and empty dehumidifiers and sweep and vacuum floors before we left. Seemed like a lot of work, and a bit pricey for what it was. All of the bulbs were burnt out in the laundry room leading to the screened porch. They were no lights in the screen porch either and there were no lights in the backyard to walk our dogs. The grass back there was kind of long as well. Aside from all that, the house was well equipped with necessities for cooking and such.
