Beautiful sunsets, pool and wine tasting

The layout of the apartment was great. The sunsets were phenomenal, and the short walk into San Donato really helps you to experience the real Italian way of life, and the slower pace. Perfect! The pool is great too. With the four different levels and plenty of sun bathing space. I recommend booking a wine tasting and tour. We had an absolute ball with the staff.

Lovely stay! I stayed 3 nights with my family and it was the perfect place to explore Tuscany.

Great location! Close to Florence and Siana and close to the main road connecting the two cities. It is situated amongst olive trees and part of the vineyard grounds. The view was amazing. Every room has a designated outside sitting area and the whole Agriturismo feels like the typical Tuscany experience.

Great agriturismo in San Donato

We stayed at La Papessa as a family with 4 young children. The house was clean and comfortable with all the necessary equipment. The agriturismo has a good list of facilities (Tennis court, table tennis, swimming pool - renovated in May 2023, large BBQ area). It is also possible to have a tour and wine tasting at the property. Location is very convenient as it is closed to Florence, San Gimignano, Siena and several other charming Chianti villages. San Donato village has a small grocery store, a pharmacy and a few restaurants. Large supermarket is 15km away.

Nice place. Beautiful location, friendly personal, atmosphere.

-During our stay internet didn't work (some major cable issue). -The heating didn't work too, so it was about 14C in the morning which quite cold for us. Personal tried to fix it, but with no result in 5 days and that was a little disappointing.

Great scenery and lovely rooms. The room and facilities were very clean. Lovely pool and very quiet.

We got the disabled room where the bathroom was a bit odd in how it was planned and smelled a bit like a basement. More ventilation would make the room 100% perfect.

Superb

We loved the location, the friendly host, the amazing views from our windows. The dishwasher came in very handy. Very close to the beautiful San Donato, where we went for pizzas at La taverna di ciccino (definitely recommended). We had a very enjoyable wine tasting with wonderful wines from the estate served with local produce.

The filter coffee machine did not work well and should be replaced.

La Papessa is really a nice place and soundings. We like walking and San Donato is a nice little town. We would have enjoyed the stay much more if we have had our private garden og space.... We could not see this when you book via Booking.com. If we have booked directly at La Papessa yes then you to make reservation for a specific room.

We had appartment 4.... We did not have our private space and we have to split the outside chairs and table with families from 1st floor (2 app) and appt. 3. Have we known this from the start we would not have made a reservation.... Our problem in week 30 was that 5 families from Holland (One large group) has rented 5 app. 10 adults, 10 kids.... The wish to sit together when eating and they did not use their own private gardens at all. They "invaded" our "private" space which wasn't there. We tried to discuss the private space both with the staff at La Papessa (Adrianna) and she did not want to get involved and therefore we had to discuss this with group from Holland. We did find a solution giving us 4 chairs and 2 tables 2 meter away from the dutch group. I do not know if you have been on vacation with people from Holland but they really talk and behave loudly.... our children's bedroom were next to where all the Dutch people were sitting every night and had a minor party... We did not find necessary space to relax a La Papessa. Last thing we had to discuss with our key personal about our bath room - There were mould and the smell was not good... La Papessa the cleaning lady did take action but the key person Adrianna + 39 371337 4226 would not... We tried 2 times to see if we could change room but this was not possible since everything were book... If La Papessa did know that the large group of Dutch people would arrive then they could have changed room so we could have our private garden and the Dutch people could party on under the cool tree in the place in front of app. 4. At the pool only 17 sunbeds avaible. Please have in mind there were also a family from GB (4 persons), 2 families from FR (6 persons) and us from DK (4 persons).... We had to "fight" to get a sunbed. So honestly we have not been satisfied with our stay....Most of all because of the large group of Dutch people...

The property is located in a peaceful setting and pool area is super relaxing Apartments are spacious and air conditioned Kitchen is well equipped BBQ area available Grocery shop just outside the road. Their wine is the best! Easy to reach Siena, Florence and San gimigniano by car

The apartment was nice, clean and spacious with all the basic amenities you would need for a comfortable stay. Gorgeous location and massive pool.

It wasn’t made clear that there wouldn’t be any option for breakfast on the property, even to pay extra for it. The staff don’t really seem to want to do anything with the farm stay guests and aren’t super helpful or available. I got told multiple times that this is “not a hotel” for basic requests.

Große Enttäuschung trotz schöner Umgebung

Der Ort ist wunderschön, mit historischen Mauern und einer traumhaften Landschaft, die den Aufenthalt sehr angenehm machen. Die Atmosphäre ist wirklich einzigartig. Der Pool ist Mega.

Leider ist der allgemeine Zustand der Unterkunft enttäuschend, besonders mit einem Kleinkind : Es gibt nur eine einzige Waschmaschine für etwa zehn Apartments, die zudem nur über ca. 40 Meter und 14 Stufen erreichbar ist – dieser Umstand wird vorher nicht erwähnt. In unserem Zimmer fehlte das Bidet. Die Küche und das Apartment sind für sechs Personen zu klein: Der Platz ist sehr begrenzt und das Kochfeld hat nur zwei Platten, auf denen gerade einmal ein Topf Platz findet. Zudem gab es im Hof angesichts der vielen Gäste zu wenige Stühle und Tische. Die Klimaanlage ist stark verstaubt, besonders an den Lamellen, optisch in schlechtem Zustand und extrem laut. Die Dusche war voller Kalkablagerungen und an den Wänden befand sich Schimmel. Besonders besorgniserregend: Unsere Wohnung war bei der Ankunft voller Glasscherben, was ein erhebliches Sicherheitsrisiko darstellt.

Gîte magnifique, situé au milieu des vignes et des Oliviers. Nous avons apprécié le calme et la magie de l’endroit. Avec en plus une très jolie piscine.

En magisk plats med fantastiska landskap. Super charmig gård med en fin och välstädat poolområde. En affär nära med en pizza restaurang intill med goda pizzor. Nästan ingen pratade engelska men alla var så gästvänliga på restaurangen.

Posizione e contesto ottimi, la struttura è molto bella ed è perfetta per chi cerca tranquillità nel cuore del Chianti!

Le uniche pecche sono il fatto che le tende in camera non siano ben oscuranti, quindi entra la luce al mattino presto, e la casa risultava fredda viste le temperature di Aprile e gli splitter non performanti.

Un bellissimo weekend con gli amici

la posizione è bellissima, l'appartamento molto bello e completo , lo spazio esterno è bellissimo , un grandissimo barbecue con dei bei tavoloni dove abbiamo passato una bella serata tutti insieme. Grazie per la bottiglia di benvenuto e per la degustazione di vini.

L'unica cosa che non è per niente funzionale in una casa per 8 persone non basta un minuscolo piano cottura con 2 fuochi dove non ci stanno nemmeno 2 tegami insieme.
