Silver Beach

Location - very central in Cowes.

Only one air conditioner in the main living area, but not a huge problem - you had to leave bedroom doors open at night to get any benefit.

We liked the spaciousness of the house, perfect for our family group of 7. There were 2 living areas each with a TV. Location was only 5 mins from Coles and 12 mins from foreshore by foot. The house was in very good / almost new condition and nicely decorated. We liked having parking for our 3 cars although not sure if they were all ours to park in. BBQ on patio was good too.

1. The major dislike (and reason why would not go back) was the lack of railing and balustrades on the raised rear patio. With 2 young kids (3 and 5) we were never able to relax when they were outside. A fall from the patio onto the concrete below could have caused a serious injury. Even the front door steps lacked a handrail making it hazardous for us senior citizens in the event of a stumble. 2. The instructions relating to the hot water service need updating as there is NO BOOST BUTTON or as we found out for ourselves, any need to turn on the HWS to get hot water in the evening. 3. The sliding aluminium door to the rear patio jams shut too readily. 4. The security box for the door key was tricky to use when using it for the first time (on arrival). 5. The 2 gates to the driveway did not have any way of bolting them shut so that the little kids did not escape down the driveway. Again we could not relax when they played outside.

the space in particular.

only that there was no rail to hold to get up the steps. with mobility issues holding something is important when using steps. the window frame and wall became the rails to hold.
