Before you book, please know that this is a home stay. You are staying upstairs in someone’s house, and sharing their bathroom facilities. It is like staying in the spare room of a family members house. So the facilities are that level, and so is the cleanliness. Not dirty, but not hotel level. Location is good, some great food spots within walking distance. The room has a mini fridge and freezer, and a really good heat pump/air conditioning unit (I’ve added a photo of the remote with translations of the buttons) The host woman is very lovely. Does not speak English, but very accommodating and leaves you to your privacy.

Firstly, hard to find. I will attach reference photo’s that will help you find your way. Google maps is not helpful. You have to go down the alleyway pictured, and it’s the house right down the end with the brown sliding door. While it is a home stay, it would have been nice if a few more amenities were provided. For example, a towel, a hot water kettle, some cups, etc. I did battle with some mosquitoes that bit through my repellent. I also unfortunately saw a cockroach run across the floor while I was on the futon bed. Not very reassuring when sleeping so close to the floor. BUT, this is rural Japan. So you will encounter these things. Does not mean the place is dirty. Please also note there are no locks on the door. So it’s good to lock your luggage before leaving the house for the day. While the comfortability level was low, I will say I do not regret staying here. It was an authentic experience, and a very cost effective one also. Simple living is good.
