Alles. Ein tolles Haus mit Pool und Garten, sehr komfortabel ausgestattet und mit besonders netten Gastgebern. Alles was für einen Aufenthalt genötigt wurde, war vorhanden. Süßigkeiten, Wein, Kaffee -für Nespressomaschine- Milch und Gebäck, waren ein tolles Starter Set.

Our 2nd visit back. Met by Christol and Hazel upon arrival. They are just the most fabulous hosts, absolutely nothing is too much trouble. The place is emaculate, garden and pool done every day, secure parking and cottage is extremely private. Great secure local location with easy access to everywhere. We look forward to returning.

There was nothing not to like everything had been meticulously planned and thought through. The swimming pool, braii, stoop and being totally secluded was wonderful. We loved every second of it.
The hosts, Hazel & Christo are fabulous and made our stay special and memorable.
No one can fault or dislike anything about Meerendal Cottage.

The pool and garden area were very nice. The property was equipped with everything you could possible need. The property was exceptionally clean and well maintained.
The welcome gift of wine and chocolates was a nice touch
The hosts initially seemed friendly but during our stay became quite intrusive and rude.
The marketing photographs are misleading and the “house rules” were very rigid and extreme; which made us feel like we were walking on egg shells most of the time. For example, the pool area is shut down by 8pm at the latest, regardless of whether you are still wanting to swim at that time and the outdoor seating is removed. On a few occasions, we had wanted to stay in the garden until later, but the hosts quite clearly had an issue with this. During our stay, the hosts messaged us numerous times, when they could have simply spoken directly to us. We respected the property, the neighbours and their requests. We did not feel like we could even play music in the garden whilst trying to relax, in case this upset the neighbours. The more we seemed to comply with the hosts requests, the more hostile they became- without due reason.
Despite the property having a hot tub, the owners implied we wouldn’t need to use it as it was just for winter usage; which was disappointing for us.
The biggest issue which should have been resolved before our stay (as I sent numerous messages to the host), was regarding us having guests at the property. The hosts waited until we had travelled 8,500 miles to visit our South African friends who we had not seen for 12 months and who had new babies that although they could visit, this was an issue. On our final evening the hosts were extremely rude and insulting towards our guests and made numerous accusations about us breaching rules (which were never explained to us or written in the handbook). This was a very disappointing and unwarranted event which completely spoiled an otherwise very pleasant holiday.
The property itself is amazing, however the strict rules and attitude and behaviours of the hosts really lets this place down.
I would not recommend this to anyone with children; it’s definitely suited towards the more mature guest.
