About this villa rental
Villa Melaza is a beautifully presented fully air-conditioned villa with a private swimming pool set in a pretty Mediterranean gardens offering privacy in a quiet setting. There is an abundance of room for relaxation and sunbathing space within the large garden, around the pool, and up on the large private roof terrace. The villa has been decorated and furnished with care to create a luxurious 'home from home'.
There is a open-plan lounge, dining and modern fitted kitchen area all equipped to a high standard. There are patio doors leading out to a choice of shaded or sunny terraces, allowing you to take advantage of the warm evenings and indulge in ‘al fresco’ dining with the built in barbecue.
Villa Melaza offers an ideal location, within a 20 minute walk from 1 of the 3 local blue flag golden sandy beaches, and only a 10minute walk from the supermarket, bakery and couple of tapas bars located at the entrance to
the estate.
We provide an onsite office, 24 hour emergency contact, and all of our villas are registered and comply with the Tourist Law 159/2012. The villa registration number is: HUTTE – 000813.
This region of the Costa Dorada is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful and unspoilt regions of the Mediterranean coast. For beach lovers the coastline offers an abundance of stunning blue flag golden sandy beaches and quiet coves.
PORTAVENTURA, the largest themepark in Europe, Ferrari land, and water parks are within 25minutes of the villa (by car or regular train service from L'Ametlla). The magnificent city of Barcelona is approx. 90mins away.
The villa is very easily accessible with Ryan Air and Jet 2, Thomson/TUI operating flights from the UK, Ireland and Europe to Reus only 30 mins away, Castellon 1hr 15mins away. Then there is Barcelona 90 minutes away, served by a number low cost airlines, from Europe, the UK and Ireland including; Easy Jet, Ryan-air, Vueling, Norweigian, BA, Level, KLM, Swiss, Luftansa, Eurowings, Iberia, Air France etc…. Valencia and Girona airports are also only approx. 2 hours away, also offering low cost air-lines.
The pretty fishing villages of L'Ametlla de Mar and L’Ampolla are a breath of fresh air, rare gems in the Mediterranean coastline. L’Ametlla de Mar is located within a 5-10minute drive of the villa, it is a popular destination for couples and families who return year after year to soak up the atmosphere of this quaint town which has retained it’s authentic charm. L’Ametlla de Mar offers a good selection of shops, bars and restaurants. An ideal location for a relaxing drink in the sunshine, or on a warm evening in one of the tapas bars, traditional fish restaurants, or international restaurants on the port, where you can watch the catch of the day being reeled in.
There are many other fabulous harbour towns and mountain villages steeped in culture and tradition nearby. A little further a field you will find the historic cities of Reus, birthplace of Gaudi, and Tarragona with it’s beautiful Roman Amphitheatre. Then not forgetting the magnificent city, of Barcelona where the influence of Gaudi has made Barcelona one of the most impressive cities in the world.
For a relaxing day out, the Ebro Delta nature reserve is within a 25minute drive and is truly stunning, it is world renowned for the rare species of wildlife and birds. The beaches are incredible, the sand dunes were used as the setting in the film 'Sahara' starring Penelope Cruz and several music videos. There are also lots of routes to take up into the picturesque mountains, where you will find lots of pretty mountain villages and views that will take your breath away.
Golf: There are 4 golf courses within 30minutes drive of this area.

Loved our break here, the property had everything we needed, there were a couple of teething problems but these were very quickly sorted by Martin who was always available to answer any queries or questions. We know the area having stayed a few times before and immediately felt welcomed and at home.

We liked Villa Melazza, and Martin was welcoming and friendly, and sorted out an initial issue with the air-conditioning very swiftly. The villa and pool were lovely, and there was lots of room and outdoor space with areas to sit. There are shops and restaurants within a few minutes drive.
But the were a few things that could be better: the sun beds are quite dirty, don’t seem to have been cleaned at all. The crockery and cutlery is chipped and mismatched. A small thing but doesn’t give a great impression. Bedrooms 2 and 3 are also quite a bit smaller than impression from the photos although the master bedroom is lovely. Be aware also that the patio doors in bedroom 3 open out to a small patch of concrete and another houses drive not to anywhere in the villa.
Les Tres Cales is ok - beaches are nice but you get to them is a short drive (or a pretty dodgy walk) under a railway bridge and a motorway. The motorway in particular is very noisy when you sit outside the villa. The area is also quite shabby, quite a few abandoned/ run down buildings or rubble.
