Casello al mare

The place is right on the beach, with its little corner or private beach. It has sun loungers, umbrella, paddle board, and 2 kayaks, all included. It almost all the amenities expected in a holiday home. The area has the feeling of being in the middle of nowhere without actually being the middle of nowhere: there is a beach resort with a little bar just 50 meters away, there is a fish restaurant 4 mins away, a takeaway pizza slice place and a massive supermarket within walking distance. The owner is a very nice man, and is very helpful. On paper it has all the hallmarks of an amazing place

Casello al Mare used to be a railway signal station so it's 4 meters from the railway (that seems normal in Civitanova: all holiday homes are right next to the train line, although this is closer than most). There are quite few superfast trains in Italy, which are VERY loud, and they don't stop at night. The only way to make this work would be with double glazing and AC, but the owner seems to think that the natural sea breeze is enough to make people feel comfortable. But 35-40°C is now the norm in Italy, sadly, and the sea breeze doesn't cut it. Additionally, to enjoy the sea breeze one needs the windows open - which means no protection from the train noises. Some of us got used to the noise of the trains, but others didn't. Shame because otherwise the place is brilliant

Peccato solo per la vicinanza della linea ferroviaria che di notte crea rumori.

We hebben een geweldige tijd gehad in Il Casello nel Mare! Het huisje ligt direct op het strand, wat het tot een perfecte locatie maakt voor een ontspannen vakantie. Een van de grootste pluspunten was de ontzettend vriendelijke eigenaren die ervoor zorgen dat je je meteen thuis voelt. Hun gastvrijheid maakte ons verblijf extra speciaal. De locatie is fantastisch met een privéstrand en een gezellige strandtent op loopafstand waar je kunt genieten van een super ontbijt en lunch. De kamers zijn ruim, schoon en de bedden zijn erg comfortabel. Het huis is volledig ingericht en voorzien van alles wat je nodig hebt voor een zorgeloos verblijf. Al met al was ons verblijf in Il Casello nel Mare fantastisch.

Een klein nadeel is dat je wel tegen het geluid van de trein moet kunnen. Hoewel onze kinderen hier totaal geen last van hadden, hebben mijn partner en ik 's nachts de trein wel gehoord. Gelukkig raakten we hier na een paar dagen aan gewend en stond het ons heerlijke verblijf niet in de weg.
