Extremely Desirable Community of Mandalay Shores Beach in Oxnard CA.
Just a few 100 steps from the sand. One level, easy access, perfect for families This is the only property like this in all of Oxnard.
A newly remodeled and freshly painted ground floor suite has a ‘Retro Surf Beach’ theme that is carried throughout. Vintage appliances, artwork, all to take you back to when life was simple.
Featuring a generous sized family living area, two private bedrooms, each newly carpeted, both with high quality, extremely comfortable queen-sized beds with high thread count linens and down comforters, one with a large window seat for reading or just relaxing. Open the window to enjoy the ocean breezes, smells and surf sounds. The other bedroom has a view of the lush tropical outdoor private backyard living area.
The remodeled large bathroom has a stone tiled shower with a high-quality clear glass door, separate soaking tub and a large vanity providing more than ample storage and fitted with top-of-the-line fixtures.
The family living area has plenty of room to relax, lots of comfortable seating and is equipped with a new 55“Smart TV and sound system. There is also room for at least six people to eat together at one time, utilizing the long table, stools, and window seat.
The kitchenette is designed for “light cooking”. Vacations are supposed to be for everyone, right? It’s equipped with two refrigerators; one has a freezer. There is also a microwave, toaster, and a single cup coffee maker, and fully stocked coffee bar, all are “Retro Surf Beach” theme to add to you peace and tranquility. All common areas not carpeted are tumbled marble stone floors.
The lush tropical private backyard is lined with giant “Bird of Paradise” around the stamped concrete flagstone patio. We also have an elevated, wood grained, raised concrete deck where you get an ocean view and can watch the sunset. The outdoor lounging area is “Class A”, large and comfortable seating. Evening’s ambiances are enhanced by the fluttering solar powered Tiki Torches placed in the tropical foliage and by the two fire pits near the two seating areas.
Large movable umbrellas are provided for shade when needed. For the “Griller” there is a large Stainless-Steel BBQ with multiple grill burners, and a side burner. Just in case you need to char a hot dog. There is also a large prep table and outdoor sink to wash the few dishes you might use.
You exit the outdoor living area, from your private, touchless entry, onto a semi-private breezeway and from there it’s only a few steps to the sand.
Located between three Marinas, Channel Islands Marina, Seabridge Marina and Ventura Harbor Marina) which enables you to enjoy the best of the best without the crowds and the high costs. Tons of local places to enjoy waterside dining, fresh seafood, steaks (or take out/delivery) picturesque views and water related activities (maybe, a harbor cruise). Your beach house is about 30 minutes from Santa Barbara and 15 minutes from ‘Historic’ Downtown Ventura.

The place was very nice. The space was very clean, the host was super responsive and helpful. He provided some great local recommendations. We had a lot of fun and the space worked for our group’s needs.
Some things to note:
While the unit has its own entrance, it is a barn door that separates it from the upstairs unit.
The unit is not directly on the ocean. And while it was just a short walk, when we opened the windows, you could not hear or see the ocean, which was one of the things we were looking for in our stay.
The path to the back gate was not well lit.

We booked this at short notice after a previous booking on another website fell through at the last minute. We had a lovely few days. Loved the outdoor area, fire pits and bbq. Exceedingly close to the beach! Scott was very quick to answer any questions we had. He also provided a ramp for my sons wheelchair which was useful. The sofa bed was rather uncomfortable and not really what I would describe as a trundle bed - no springs. There was also no blind or curtains in the sitting room which caused rather an issue with sleeping there. Could do with a proper plumbed sink outdoors or in the hallway but it is clear on the website that it is not available. Avoid Toppers pizzas - there were lots of rats in their outdoor seating area!

Our family stayed at this property for three nights. We absolutely loved our time there! It is perfectly located so close to the beach, which was of utmost importance to us. It was very clean and we had everything we needed to have a relaxing stay. Communication with the owner was great, he was very responsive before, during, and as we wrapped up our trip. The neighborhood is quiet and perfect for our family with two kids. We loved going to local restaurants that were only a couple of miles away, and not having to cook was my goal. If we DID want to cook, the outdoor grill and sink area would have been perfect for outdoor dining. The property manual was so thoughtfully put together and answered any questions we might have had, including dining suggestions in the area. These owners really put a lot of time into ensuring their guests had everything they needed to have a relaxing vacation! The beds were very comfortable and the outdoor seating area was perfect for morning coffee and wine sipping at night.
We HIGHLY recommend this property and hope to return next summer! Thank you! 💛
