Costa dei Monaci Villas - Tropea

Honestly, we loved this place so much I almost don't want to tell anyone else about it! The photos do not do it justice. As described, it is a detached single story house set within the exclusive privately owned condominium called Costa Dei Monaci. All the properties are different and very well designed for privacy. There is a covered private parking space at the back of the property and, at the front overlooking the sea, a large covered portico area for lounging and eating and a grass lawn - all well-equipped (sun loungers, large dining table outside, dishwasher and washing machine etc etc) and self-contained and completely private. Good functioning kitchen, two bathrooms and a living room with TV. Everything spotlessly clean. However, the stand-out is the view! It is literally to die for. With uninterrupted views of the sea, the beaches of Zambrone below and the sunsets. It is also possible to walk down to the small private beach in a few minutes (driving also possible, but we did not try this) and one can continue to walk along the white sandy (some pebbles) beach for several kms. The private beach bar is closed until May 31st, as are most of the other beach bars along this stretch. The summer season gets going in early June. However, for us this was perfect - blissfully quiet and no parking problems in the towns. The nearest town is Parghelia (4km) and nearest large town is Tropea (9km), but you do really need a car in this area of Calabria. There is no public transport apart from a very infrequent train, no Ubers, taxis or busses. The owner who was not on-site during our visit and his housekeepers are very kind and helpful. Communication was without fault.

One piece of advice, it is wise to reverse into the covered parking due to the hilly nature of the condo setting and the tightness of the bends in the private access road.
