Gwel an Heyl, Padstow

This is a beautiful property in an excellent position to explore the abundance of beautiful local beeches. It has every amenity and extra you would require apart from parasols which are important in the summer months to enjoy the fabulous garden safely in the sunshine. Planned all on the ground floor it has easy access superb fittings with character and charm. The fourth and smallest bedroom would benefit from a little more storage space for clothing. A great kitchen which even had sharp knives to cook with ! A first for me ! Staying self catering although this designer kitchen weirdly has a microwave fitted at low level. Super fridge and freezer space. Fabulous garden with awesome views to rock beach is so beautiful although to be more child friendly perhaps the larger areas of loose stones could be replaced with something a little kinder under foot and their is a gap between the jacuzzi and house that would benefit from a gate to stop children and dogs from going thru to the back of the house wood store and gate small dogs can go through . As previously mentioned there is no shade in the summer months but an old plastic roof covering held down by weighted plastic bags could easily be replaced or repaired and made sun proof to provide the welcome shade. There is a big Jacuzzi and for a reasonable charge you can have use of an electric car charger. Plenty of space for 2 cars .

We dliked it all but as already mentioned with a few low cost changes and add ins feel we could rate it as superb.

Needs more seating in lounge. Can only seat 6 but property sleeps 8-10. Property needs a deep clean now. Shower room next to main bedroom is a bit rusty and mouldy, needs updating. Quite a nasty collie who lives at the top of road appears at speed out of the hedge on all dog walks and did manage to bite one of my dogs on one occasion.

Excellent facilities and the kitchen was really well equipped. It was very clean. Owner was really helpful ahead of our stay.

It is located down a very small track, bad even for Cornish standards! But that's one of the prices to pay for it's stunning location
