The outside space, seating areas and pool are great. The house is spacious with four bedrooms and 4 bathrooms and additional toilet. The games room is a nice touch. There’s a supermarket a five minute walk away and colares is about a 7min walk

The inside furnishings could do with being updated; plaster is coming off the walls, baths and bathrooms are tired and the house smells a bit musty. There are also no mirrors in the bedrooms which would’ve handy

Very spacious and charming (felt like an old family home). My sons loved the swimming pool, tennis court and swimming pool (good size for a private pool). Lovely quiet location but also only a couple of minutes from a good supermarket and an easy drive to all Sintra’s highlights and the beach. We stayed in March so prices would be lower than in the summer but given the size and facilities felt very good value. Owner also very helpful and communicative.

The showers were a bit unpredictable- there was always hot water but it was difficult to set to exactly the right temperature.

This property was fantastic! We were two families, each with 2 adults and two teenage children wanting some time to catch up with each other as well as to do some sightseeing around Lisbon and Sintra, including doing some walking, biking and taking in the beaches. This property and it's location were perfect for our requirements and the property owner, Jose, was brilliant, easy to deal with and accommodating. I have provided more specific details below, but overall, the property exceeded our expectations and we would definitely choose to stay here again. We had good communication from Jose before we arrived. Our arrival flight into Lisbon was delayed and we were late getting to the property but Jose was great and waited for us to arrive, showing us all we needed to know and making himself available for any queries we might have during our stay. The property, while not super-modern, is great. It is charming, roomy and comfortable and has fantastic amenities. The bedrooms were a good size and the beds very comfortable. The house is spacious with good communal spaces and furniture, inside and out, which could fit all 8 of us and it was always possible to find a quiet space for anyone wanting some alone time. There are multiple bathrooms, (very convenient for two families!) and the showers were great too. The kitchen had most everything we needed for self-catering and cooking meals for all. The fabulous pool, tennis court and pool table/table tennis table meant there was plenty for us and the teenagers to do at the house. The neighborhood was quiet and safe. Location was also excellent. A large supermarket is less than 5 minutes walk away and a good café and craft beer & pizza restaurant were within similar walking distance. Great beaches were an easy 20 minute walk. Sintra (always busy) was a 15 - 20 min drive and great to explore but it was always nice to return to the quietness of Colares.

There was really nothing we didn't like but there a couple of (very!) minor things worth noting for awareness: Only one room has a double/queen bed but even with two couple this wasn't a problem - we just pushed two of the twin single beds together. Having sheet options which allowed you to make the two singles into a double would give good guest flexibility for two families such as we had The house didn't have air-conditioning but even with us being there in the heat of early July this wasn't a problem. Sintra/Colares tends to be a bit cooler than Lisbon anyway (thankfully!), the house has got great window and door options for airflow and there was always the pool if you needed a cool off! While the house and location was very quiet, with no neighbor or nighttime (or daytime) traffic noise, local dogs were often heard barking at night but again, this was not a problem or issue for us. As above, the property is not super-modern but it was clean, comfortable, homely and extremely "liveable"

Het huis is echt heel mooi. De buitenruimte en het zwembad zijn geweldig. Alle extra faciliteiten zoals (tafel) tennis. De fijne zitplekken buiten. De inrichting van het huis is wat klassiek maar maakt het juist gezellig en speciaal. De ligging is perfect tussen oceaan en Sintra.

Klein puntje: Ik heb graag het dekbed in een dekbedhoes in plaats van met een los laken. Voor mij was het bed wat te hard.
