I visit Algoma 1-3 times annually for fishing. This is my "go-to" motel. I love its location and "vibe". Always clean and comfortable, with plenty of room. Close to everything. No trouble sleeping on their beds, either.
I occasionally stay here with my 90+ year-old dad. Toilets in the rooms are the old "standard" height, which are a challenge for him to get up from. Refitting the rooms with taller toilets would be helpful. Also, converting a couple of rooms to ADA-compliant, with grab bars in the shower and near the toilet, would be helpful...dad struggles to get in and out of the tub/shower, as there is little to grab on to. At his age, his greatest fear is slipping in the bathroom.

The room was a little small and there wasn’t a front desk staff.

The room was clean. Self check in and check out available. Easy to find.
The bathroom could definitely be cleaner. There was some little hair in the bathtub when we got in. The room was pretty humid.
