The best place I've ever stayed away from home.

Lovely appartment in a lovely old building, operate by a lovely couple of owners. Thick walls against the heat and the noise - but then the Rue Cocand is a pretty quiet one to begin with. It is roomy, located at 50m from the cathedral in the historic old center of town. The kitchen comes with a good espresso machine - coffee and "madeleine" pastries included! The shower is great even for someone as tall as I am (1.89 m). The bed is a bit high off the ground but very comfortable.

I can only think of one improvement to make and I mention it only to illustrate just how excellent the appartment is: a shelf for toiletries would be nice to have in the bathroom.

SIMPLY BEAUTIFUL

Beautifully decorated in a stylish simple Mediterranean fashion. Thoughtfullly kitted out. Historic building with impressive dimensions. Perfect location. Delightful and helpful host. Easy access.

I think a floorplan would be helpful. We were 3 adult friends sharing. The person on the sofabed had to go through the bedroom to the toilet in the night. Not ideal for all groups. This is more an issue with Booking.com as we asked for 2 bedrooms. A tiny maintenance repair needed. Instructions for bedding need a little more detail.

I was warmly greeted by Victoire and she cheerfully accommodated my uncertain arrival time. Delightful courtyard in which to relax, with a view of the nearby towers of the cathedral. Secure, covered bike parking.

Cosy self-catering accomodation, full of character

The apartment is very conveniently located, off a gorgeous courtyard right by the cathedral. The host apologised for not greeting us in person, but made herself available had we needed anything. The apartment was clean and very cosy. We would highly recommend following the bakery and restaurant recommendations in the booklet provided!

Magnifique!

The apartment was infinitely charming. We loved it! It was clean, the lounge and bed comfortable, there were good books to read, there was a superb vista towards the cathedral ( lit up at night) , the courtyard was warm and sunny and the kitchen had all the utensils we needed. The hostess was very welcoming and attended to all requests in no time.

We would have found it easier to organise our things had there been additional shelving, however, this in no way detracted from the enjoyment of the property.

A jewel in Burgundy

A jewel of a property in the city--we loved the attention to detail and the feeling of being at home in the apartment. The location was amazing and the host very attentive and kind. We quickly realized there were lots of things to do in the area, so we booked to come back another time and stay longer!

Very nice and sympathetic hostess, beautiful palace in the middle of the old town of Autun with charming courtyard. The decor and furnishings of the rooms were very aesthetic and with great attention to detail. We were highly satisfied.

Very good

Victoire is a very kind host who knows a lot about wines and she sold us some that we much appreciated. The house is lovely with a great court yards where we could leave our ebikes safely overnight. The bed was very good and the bedlinnen was especially nice.

Unique, great, wonderful

It is a beautiful accommodation with a lot of charm and cordiality. There is everything you need. The hosts are great. We were also lucky enough to experience a great party in the fantastic courtyard. Thank you very much for the wonderful days!

Exceptional

We booked the 2 apartments for our family of 4. We already knew that we were going to have a great experience at Le Cocand when we received a message from our Hostess Victoire, the day after booking, with a pleasant greating and offer to answer any questions we might have. Upon arrival our children, 14 and 16, were given a quick tour around the appartments and then shown how to set up the sofa bed and where to find all of the bedding. We were able to off load our bikes and bike rack and Victoire was able to point us in the right direction for parking Each of the apartments have been tastefully renovated and fitted out with care and consideration for those who wish dine in or go out. We chose to eat in on our first night and were able to cook with relative ease. The inner courtyard is amazing and private with lovely garden tables and chairs to enjoy a local wine and snacks. Victoire has an amazing wine cellar and many local wines available for sale (We were not shy to purchase and partake and then purchase some more.). If you are a group of 6 or more you can book a wine tasting event! This was absolutely an added bonus to our stay. All of the bedding was very comfortable and tastefully made up. Both apartments are clean and tidy and are very representative of the professionalism of the hosts. We used the larger apartment for our children to sleep and as a family room in the evenings, including cooking. The smaller apartment is perfect for a couple, but might be a little short on space if you have older kids. If you are looking for an amazing, well priced place to stay whilst visiting Burgundy we highly recommend Le Cocand.

Une très belle surprise ! Situé dans le ravissant quartier de la cathédrale, l'établissement possède un charme fou, avec ses chambres très bien décorées et le petit jardin où l'on peut se restaurer à l'ombre des vielles pierres et des parasols. La cuisine dans la chambre est parfaitement équipée. Le personnel est particulièrement attentionné.

Même si cela aide à nous déconnecter, j'apprécie toujours avoir la télévision dans la chambre. Mais c'est un détail !

C'est un logement rénové dans une magnifique propriété, et la rénovation a été faite avec goût, la décoration est très chaleureuse, c'est bien équipé et très confortable. Le logement est situé à 5 minutes à pied de la cathédrale d'Autun et du centre ville. Je recommande !

Wir waren in einem historischen Gebäude in einem App. untergebracht - wunderschön! Für die Gäste gab es die Möglichkeit im Innenhof ( ...mit Blick auf die Kathedrale! ) zu frühstücken oder am Abend noch ein Glas kühlen Wein zu genießen. Absolut perfekt, da maximal zentral und dennoch total ruhig. Alle Sehenswürdigkeiten und das historische Zentrum waren zu Fuß ohne Probleme in kurzer Zeit zu erreichen. Die Eigentümerin/Gastgeberin war sehr freundlich´, hilfsbereit und zuvorkommend. Die perfekte Urlaubslocation für einen Besuch in Autun. Wir kommen gerne wieder...

Great hosts and lovely interior

De hosts waren heel open stonden altijd klaar. Ons zoontje werd ziek en Victoire en haar man stonden direct klaar. We mochten ook speeltjes lenen en wat andere spulletjes.

We hadden de ‘pech’ dat het 33 graden was en het erg warm werd in de accomodatie. Niks aan te doen natuurlijk 😄.
