Bodenmais - Vacations on the Edge of the Forest

A charming, country-style vacation apartment covering approximately 70 square meters awaits you, accommodating up to 4 people. The apartment has a separate entrance and is located on the upper floor, accessible via an interior staircase. It features two separate bedrooms (one with a double bed and one with two single beds) and a bathroom with a toilet (the shower is located separately on the first floor near the staircase). A kitchen-living room with a dining area, stove, refrigerator, living area, and access to a large balcony with a panoramic view (approx. 14 square meters); parking spaces are available right next to the house.

The Alte Forsthaus is located at the foot of the Silberberg, surrounded by tall forests in a quiet, secluded setting on the outskirts of the climatic health resort of Markt Bodenmais.
Enjoy the location amidst this unique natural setting.
Start your day with breakfast on the large balcony, letting your gaze wander over the green meadows and forests. With a little luck, you might spot deer with fawns, falcons hunting, hares, or even a fox or lynx in the morning.

The Alte Forsthaus in Bodenmais is an ideally located starting point for wonderful hikes, leisurely walks, mountain bike tours, or Nordic walking. The extensive network of trails begins right outside the front door. This area also has plenty to offer for the little ones. A stroller trail also starts right outside the front door, and not far away, there’s the exciting “Ant Trail” for older children. Bodenmais, the Silberberg, and the surrounding area offer a wealth of exciting attractions and activities.
In the evening, round off a relaxing, eventful day of vacation by unwinding on the balcony of your vacation rental. Listen to the sounds of the forest at night and enjoy the view of the deep, starry sky. We wish you a good night’s sleep. The Altes Forsthaus is located about 3 km south of Bodenmais on the outskirts of town, right next to the forest. From Regener Straße—between the Bodenmais Camping Resort and Böhmhof—follow the signs for “Altes Forsthaus.” After passing Böhmhof, continue past the forest railway station. The final stretch is along a gravel forest road (private road).

Visitor’s tax and GUTi guest card*: €3.60 per person per day; children and teens (ages 6 to 16): €1.80; children under 6 are exempt from the visitor’s tax (mandatory, must be paid on site).

*Free bus and train travel throughout the entire Bayerwald-Ticket fare zone!

Towels and bed linens are provided for your initial needs.
The vacation rental does not have a washing machine, but you can use our laundry service—€10 per wash, €10 per dryer cycle.
