Cedar Crest - Osprey Cottage 3

My wife and I recently stayed at the Osprey Cottage at Cedar Crest Cottages and overall had a very enjoyable experience. The location was excellent and one of the biggest highlights of our stay. Being so close to the lake and conveniently located on Tahoe's West Shore made it easy to enjoy everything the area has to offer. The cottage itself has been nicely updated and offers a cozy atmosphere that's ideal for couples. The layout worked well for us, and we appreciated the modern touches while still maintaining the character of the property. They had a well equipped kitchen.

There are a few things future guests should be aware of. Access to the cottage requires carrying luggage up an outdoor flight of stairs, which may be challenging for some travelers or anyone packing heavy bags. While the cottage was generally clean, the area above the bedroom windows could use more attention during cleaning. There was a noticeable collection of spiders, webs, and other bugs in those upper corners that detracted from an otherwise well-maintained space. Another point of clarification is that the listing advertises HVAC, but this does not include air conditioning. Normally this may not be an issue in Tahoe, but we happened to visit during an unusually hot stretch with daytime temperatures in the upper 90s. The property did provide several fans, which helped, but guests expecting air conditioning should be aware that it is not available. I've rented plenty of properties that had basic seasoning for cooking, coffee, tea etc..., this cottage had nothing. One maintenance concern I noticed was the wooden window located inside the shower. It gets thoroughly soaked every time the shower is used, and I couldn't help but think that over time the constant exposure to water may cause the wood to warp or rot if it's not properly protected.
