A friendly place in the heart of Serre-Chevalier, perfect for a stop during a bikepacking or backpack trip, easy check-in, healthy breakfast included and a safe room to store bicycles overnight.
The rooms are a bit dated; they could do with a refurbishment.

Great and friendly stay in Serre Chevalier
Auberge de Jeunesse HI Serre- Chevalier was an amazing stay! Technicalities - everything was great! The rooms were clean and had bathroom facilities, the location was great (you can reach a ski lift within a very short walk), and breakfast and dinner were also both included in my booking, making my stay very convenient. Notably, all the staff were very kind and happy to chat, as well as help me in any way getting to know the area/public transport/about the slopes which I really appreciated, especially being my first time skiing! The communal dining area was also nice and made for a nice space to chat with other guests, and added to the overall social atmosphere of the hostel. Overall- this was a really fantastic stay and I would definitely love to come back !!😊😊😊

Great location, friendly and helpful staff, social atmosphere, breakfast included in the price. I appreciated that the hostel takes their sustainability goals seriously - they provide vegetarian food, good system for sorting waste, advice to guests etc.
The beds were creaking a bit, and the food was very basic (although it was also rather cheap)

The view of the mountains.
All the services are excluded (like towels and shampoo/ soap for hand washing). The bedsheets were dirty. The dinner and breakfast are low quality. This could be fine as we are in a hostel but I do not understand the high prices for a night. The host tried to oblige us to pay a supplement for a membership.

Location was great, the hostel is clean and welcoming. The breakfast was enough to get you through through until the next meal. Overall great value and a pleasant stay.

A very nice hostel.
Very sociable atmosphere, eating together at the same table(s).
Possibly the only thing I think could be improved would be a bathroom/ toilet available in the public areas, for use when the toilet in your form is being used.

Exceptional
One of the very best hostels I have ever been to. The auberge has even a bar with a garden where they held a concert. It was a magical place full of peace.
