BEDBUGS i could not sleep here i had to book a another hotel just to be sure

Not good at all

The staff were very accommodating and helpful.

The place was dirty, I only stayed there for about 20 minutes when I HAD to leave due to bed bugs crawling all over the beds. When I spoke to the man downstairs about this he was very apologetic and called his boss immediately to get me a refund, the boss refused originally, claiming that I was a liar. After the staff member himself went to the room and took photos on his own phone to send to his boss , I was assured I would be getting a refund.. this is yet to happen.

The location and the garden are great. The room I stayed in was spacious and the atmosphere with the rest of the people staying in the same room was very nice.

Pretty location but you’re not at the heart of the city

Great breakfast . Location it is really easy to travel to center but just takes a while so means you have to plan your day around the fact it’s far and will probably only go out once per day.

Avoid coming here, so unfriendly and unwelcoming place

AVOID THIS PLACE. It's horrible. It's far from the center - about 40 min far in public transport. No hot water in the shower (1 shower I think for 20 beds if not more), add to that the hostile, unfriendly, mocking attitude from people working there. I've been traveling for 20 years, this by far was one of my least favorable experiences. The place is managed bad, the people working there are unfriendly, and the facilities are basic, at least the sleeping room and bath. I usually give good reviews - but this place is horrible. I warmly suggest you to AVOID IT.

The place is horrible. I promised my self I will do all that is in my power to make sure other travelers don't reach there. Please AVOID the place, you could easily find something better in city center.

The staff were super nice. All the ladies I could fall in love with and the men I would like to be friends with too. The location was beautiful, there is an alright and grand breakfast included. Wifi worked without issues and bathrooms were well thought through and had lots of places to hang stuff in the shower. (Usually a problem in most other hostels) Everything was beautiful and I would like to live there again.

It was quite hot in the room, but Marseille is hot now so maybe I shouldn't complain about that. Also there were some ant invasion going on in the kitchen sink but that's a minor issue really. A little bit a must say it annoyed me that the place only has one entrance and I often found myself walking like a lab rat in a maze through it. One night the main gate in front of the park was closed and I spent an hour trying to get back. 🙂

Peaceful Hostel Away from City Chaos

Although it was far from the center and the main attractions, the area the hostel was in seemed safe and quiet, which made the hostel a nice place to relax, especially in the evening (the sunset was beautiful from the garden). The linens were clean, but the mattress had a few stains. Overall, the bed was quite comfortable. There was a well-equipped kitchen, but unfortunately, it was a mess due to the other guests. I would have loved to see a separate box or something similar for the free food, as there were a few instances where someone mistook someone else's food for the free food. The room had spacious lockers. The breakfast, although quite simple (consisting only of some baguette, eggs, jam, butter, coffee and juice) was a nice little touch. The staff was helpful and kind.

The room had no AC and got quite hot during the day. It wouldn't have been a problem if my room wasn't located directly above the garden, where people played games and chatted in the evening. Closing the window would have meant no air in the room, but sleeping with it open was difficult.

Facilities are good and what you would expect from a Hostel. Building itself is great and very historic Area is very quiet and not that much traffic Breakfast was good and functional

Beds were a bit noisy at every movement you made On Sunday morning there was a flea market in the garden of the Hostel so there was a lot of noise outside starting from 05.00

The receptionist was nice and polite.

The receptionist's manager didn't seem as polite. He was telling me off for checking out late. Until I told him I am checking out one day early (didn't stay for the whole duration I had paid for. I didn't request a refund but wanted to go elsewhere)

the kitchen was a bit messy and there was like a school camp so the kids wouldn’t stop screaming!! it’s “easy” to get there from the centre, but from the bus stop to the actual hostel, it’s so hard!! it’s not a straight path at all and it’s not nice if you have suitcases or much luggage. breakfast was too early!

Unfortunately, the lack of cleanliness was a big disappointment.

The view of the city was nice, especially at the sunset. The lobby where you checked in was stylish and the staff was kind and welcoming.

Unfortunately, the cleanliness was a big letdown. The cups at the breakfast were dirty and the cutlery were quite greasy. The bathrooms and toilets were dirty, the toilets did not have a toilet-seat and the door to the toilet room was not well designed, it was too large for you to easily get in and out. To get out of the toilet room I had to squeeze in the narrow space between the toilet and the wall in order to be able to open the door and get out of the toilet room.

First of all a price. It cost just a little bit cheaper but considering that it is far enough from the city center and the facilities are not in a good condition the difference should be greater. There were only two sockets in the room for four people, it wasn't possible to charge the phone or other devices at night. There wasn't air conditioning, and the temperature in July was more 30 degree even at night. The building and rooms are very old. The lock didn't work in one toilet, the light in the other. The Internet worked very poorly even in the lobby.

One night in a peaceful location with excellent staff.

Breakfast was plentiful and tasty. The staff were very helpful and friendly. It was a beautiful old building with fine views from the dormitory I was in.

Bad

24h reception. Kind staff in reception, 2/3 of them could speak English. There were POS. Very big lockers. My room was big too.

There is only one bathroom and toilet at the same room per floor for many persons, so I had to wait in a queue if I wanted to brush my teeth or pee or take a bath! There is no metro station near to the hostel so somebody has to use at least 2 busses to the center. In the night, my only option to come back at the hostel was by metro and walking a very long distance. There was no wifi in my room. I paid 5€ for parking my motorbike for 1 night, although I had read a comment here that was free for motorbike and the parking area was completely empty. The breakfast was the simplest I have ever seen.
