Hotel Le Temple Borobudur

Upon arrival, you are immediately enchanted. Lovely entering ceremony where you ring the gong before you enter, and receive a delicious welcome drink. As you are led to your room, you are impressed by the attention to detail. The physical layout and rooms in the economy villa are elegant, hexagonal in shape and are two story with a living room above with small balcony. Downstairs, you have a big and comfortable bed with an outdoor seating area in the area around the pool which separates your villa from the restaurant. When we were there we felt we had the place to ourselves. The spa was in a separate building with the gym. Had a very relaxing massage. The breakfast included local and western options. The food was artistically presented and the local dishes we tried were all very good. There were different complimentary activities each day such as a cooking class and cocktail class. Sunset on the roof was peaceful with the sounds of prayer. The staff was very friendly There was a menu for eye-masks, earbuds and other things you might need. Staff was lovely and kind.

There was no map for walking to the Borabadur temple nor were instructions from staff clear as they should have been given that Borabudur is the #1 reason why guests are there. We ended up taking a Grab for which we were grateful as the temps hit 38 that day. Also, pricing for cars from the hotel should be a closer to the prices offered by Grab or rather than 3-4x higher. More info on local restaurants would be nice. I realize that resorts want guests to eat in house but given the location a balance is almost always desired. The fridge is not on automatically and we had medicine we needed to keep cold. The staff was young and could have used more training befitting the luxury standing of Le temple.

Unique design of the place. The staff are the most helpful polite, friendly & providing great service. Food at restaurant has been delicious.

Main bedroom upstairs with bathroom downstairs makes it a bit hard to come down during the night for toilet break. It will be great if there are lounges at the Restaurant to chill and relax.
