About this house rental
El Xalet del Priorat is a private house located just outside the village of Escaladei, surrounded by olive groves and vineyards. It's ideal for anybody who wants to enjoy peace and quiet, starry nights or walks on the magnificent Montsant massif, as well as all the charms and attractions of the DOQ Priorat, one of the world's premier wine regions.
It's 10 minutes' walk from the former monastery of Scala Dei and just 5 minutes from the centre of the village.
The house has three double rooms, each with its own bathroom, and 100% cotton sheets and towels are provided. There is the option of adding two extra beds.
The large kitchen is fully-equipped for preparing meals of all kinds conveniently, and even features an open barbecue.
The house is fully heated, with a fireplace in the living room for those chilly winter evenings.
There is a utility room with a washing machine and space to hang out washing both inside and outside.
It boasts a wonderful outdoor barbecue where you can enjoy the finest of food in an idyllic setting.
You can also enjoy its swimming pool with views of the Montsant massif, one of the many outstanding features offered by El Xalet del Priorat. The garden is the perfect place to relax, for children to play in and is also great if you come with pets.
It has private parking space with room for several vehicles.
If you let us know in advance, we can offer the option of guided walks, bike rides or horse riding.

The house is quite nice with 3 good sized bedrooms and 3 baths.We were 5 people .A nice sized kitchen and a large living room.The surroundings are gorgeous: vineyards and olive and almond trees. Very quiet. The property has a inground pool which helped deal with the heat. The house has no A/C and it was very warm even at night, Would be nice if there were fans.The beds were comfortable and there’s a great outdoor wood oven(we roasted chicken perfectly) and a table to eat ,have drinks, and play games.
Downsides: the pool needed some cleaning but was fine to swim in which we did every day; get groceries before you get there.Closest good sized grocery store was in Falset about 45 minutes of very windy roads away. It is a short walk to Cellers Scala Dei winery which has a great tour and delicious wine. Rebost is a local restaurant where we had a great lunch.We also ate at Brots and Mussons in Poboleda. Brots is a Michellin star restaurant and food and service was fantastic. It is an hour or so to beach (we went to Cambrills near Tarragona).
Few things: very wind - y roads up and down the mountains; strongly recommend reservations wherever you want to eat, restaurants are closed usually at 3 and dinner starts at least 7-8 pm.
We are a well travelled family and overall we loved this place and would return.Host Christian was very responsive

Quiet and super comfortable place, featuring everything you need to spend a restful and peaceful stay in the Priorat, with amazing views on the mountains and the sky. Really fantastic house!
