Onset beach, Cape code , Blackmore pond, private waterfront cottage

Overall, we very much enjoyed our stay. The location is great, the view is beautiful and the hosts were very great from a communication standpoint.The cottage is very cosy and homey feeling, but the only issue was the price tag was a bit high for this property. I say this because the cottage is definitely in need of some updates. For example the screen door to the patio was duct taped to conceal what I assume were holes in the screen. This is something that should be replaced if you are going to charge a premium dollar per night stay (roughly 300 per night for us). Additionally, many of the windows did not open as the crank or frame itself on the window was broken. The place itself was really in need of a deep clean as there was dirt, hair and dead bugs in the corners of the floors. There was also a lot of dog hair on the floor when we arrived. Which as dog people it wasn't a big deal, but our daughter who is crawling age ended up with handfuls of hair. The kitchen amenities were also very scarce, as we did not see a pizza cutter, any small knifes, etc. Also, the TV had an error message that was permanently burned into the screen so anytime you watched the TV you could still see an error message. Some minor updates to the property could turn this into a 5 star stay for sure.The bathroom was very nice and you could tell it had been completely updated/renovated recently. They also had recently updated parts of the kitchen as well. The wifi was also great, very fast.

Great property, we loved being right on the water and the fire pit. Great location with lots to do in the immediate area.Only recommendation would be to invest in some kitchen utensils! Only one small paring knife and a bread knife and minimal cookware and flatware.Thanks again for the stay!

We had another great time staying in this cottage and plan to book it again next summer. The cottage is comfortable and located in a perfect waterfront location with an awesome dock. The owner responds extremely quickly to any questions or concerns. Thank you, Van, once again for your hospitality! See you next summer!

My husband and I stayed here with our 2 dogs for my sisters wedding weekend. The property was as described- right on a lake with nice back door views. It was, overall, pretty clean inside. There was some leftover food in the fridge- beers, salsa, used butter. Not sure if those were from the people who stayed before us or not. The owner communicated via text that there was coffee and tea available in the cabinets, which was a nice touch. Check in and out was very easy with a lock box on the property. As I stated, my husband and I brought our 2 dogs with us. At home, they sleep on the couch at night. We know that not everyone is a fan of dogs on the furniture (although all dog friendly rentals we’ve previously stayed at were okay with it- as communicated by the owners when booking), so we brought blankets to cover the couch, as a courtesy. Saturday morning, I received a text from the owner asking us to keep the dogs off of the couch and inquiring about us traveling with their own dog beds. I’m not sure the placement of the “outdoor” ring cameras, but to me, it appeared based on that text message that one of them probably has a view of the living room. The back sliding glass doors do not have a window covering/blinds. I wish the actual location of the cameras was disclosed, as after that text my husband and I felt uncomfortable with staying inside the house with the dogs. We did crate our dogs when we weren’t home to ensure there would be no issues. We paid to stay through check out on Sunday, but left late Saturday night after the wedding. Overall the stay was okay for us, since we only stayed one night.
