We stayed at this grand old hotel, built over 170 years ago. It has character and style from an age long gone. Features that catch your eye instantly, the stairwell with its thick bannister and stained glass windows. The tartan carpet is a real beauty.
Our room was clean with modern facilities. The bed was very comfortable, much better than many newer establishments.
At reception on booking in, we met the owner Richard, who gave his time freely to make us welcome and regale us with a few stories about his business interests.
Highly recommended, great staff and as a guest you are not treated as just a number. Your custom is welcomed.

Lovely hotel but no lift as it’s a listed building

Okay for one night, in a room without view. It had a very soft mattress, the cold water flow almost zero on both basin and shower, the hot water was full bore though.
Good parking and suited needs for ferry location.
